Maxing Energy bolt instead of Magic Claw?

I'm going to make a F/p wizard for my BoF mule, and I want to have some fun. Will my attacking ability be drastically cut if I max energy bolt instead of magic claw? How long do F/p wizards use magic claw?

Most guides say that you should max magic claw but it doesnt really matter

At level 122 I still use it. It depends on what you do. It's useful in 4x-120 for doubling your chance to kill high level monsters. Even after that it's useful in 4th job for dojoing and things until paralyze is strong enough to beat it on bosses like papa pixie.

Energy Bolt has higher KB, but Magic Claw is more stable damage.

F/P's are a lot different to I/L's when it comes to MC. >: I rarely use it now, since cold beam beats it AND freezes. Add in the fact that they made it stupid and pink, it's almost nullified. Honestly, the only time I use it is when I'm Dojo, which is near-to-never.

Even as an I/L AM, I was using Magic Claw today in Dojo. It's useful since I don't have Big Bang and some monsters are Ice AND Lightning Resistant.

DO NOT DO MAGIC BOLT. I did this one time on my first mage. Screwed me over big time. Max magic claw not magi bolt, too unstable damage.

the bolt move isnt good becuase of how the moves range is not even the damage concept. Magic claw: can go through walls and up ledges Magic bolt: goes straight with a small increase and hits walls/ledges then disappears doesnt work as well even if you dont care about damage

No, bolt is a stupid idea, especially as a F/P. When you poison train, Magic claw is much more effective than Magic Bolt, and stronger too. Not only that, it can hit targets that Magic bolt can't. Whoever thought of the idea that Magic Bolt is the 'fun' way to go is an idiot.

ul reduce your time training w/ magic claw, as you get twice the chance to kill a monster with either poison brace or poison mist.

i think magic claw would be better for a f/p caues your gonna be misting really high lvl monsters and when u come back to kill them u have 2 chances to hit them

It won't really effect you too much if you are going to max fire arrow... but if you aren't then make sure you get mc *Edit* I just realized... you should do MC because they go through walls and stuff.... its alot more easier to hit people when you do poison training sorry :X
