What is the point of staying Low LUK if you can't use the high level maker items, like the timeless overall, because you capped your LUK? LUKless mages especially get burned by the new high level maker equips because they have no LUK whatsoever. I understand that the less LUK you have the more power and MP you get in the higher levels, but doesn't that also mean that you have to sacrifice defense? So would it not be better to go full LUK to get the Timeless and Reverse pieces? Otherwise why is everyone hunting after PoT's?

defense for mages is nothing when defense blocks 200dmg that is nothing when you take 1k touch dmg and you say like PoT is only for magicians which it is not so.

Pot's are mainly for other classes, such as warriors and others. To put it in easier terms, a lukless mage with pure clean equips and an ele wand 7, will beat a reg luk mage with pure reverse equips makered well.

lol, actually 95% of cases mages will be FAR better off going lukless than regular luck. There are level 70 and 130 elemental wands which do not require luk at all, and all the sp pumped into int boosts their damage tremendously and also causes a higher rise in stats when maple warrior is used. Lukless mages also get far more mp than regluk mages, recieve less magic damage, and potentially burn fewer mp pots since they have more mp that can be recovered with pots such as ginsengs and ginger ales which recover a certain % of the hp and mp when used. Regluk mages will never outdo lukless mages with equal funding. Ever. The only and I mean ONLY time pumping in luk is beneficial for mages is for bishops who wish to yeild a doomsday staff which requires 80luk to equip, and even then luk is usually capped at 40 or below and the rest gained with equips. Even then, they BARELY come out on top over a lukless bishop using a godly shine wand/wisdom staff.

With Zhelm, HTP, Black Belt, etc, there is no point in being Reg Luk. For the most part, wearing full Reverse set of equips, including weapons, will put you at a huge disadvantage, especially for I/l and F/p. The times when being able to wear Reverse items isn't a disadvantage is with many billions in funding and when you have nicely Chaos'd equips. In terms of basically everything, 93% of the time, Lukless> Low Luk> Reg Luk.

Strongest Bishops are still 4 base LUK. Due to MW. As for your question, Defense hardly means anything in Maple Story, meaning there is really very little point in Low Luck or Reg Luck builds (until 196.) It doesn't mean RegLuk/LowLuk builds can't be beastly however.

If you plan on making an Arch-Mage without a doubt go lukless and when you have the funds get an elemental wand. If you are making a Bishop I'd suggest going lukless until 120 if you have the funds to afford a zhelm, htp, lilin's ring, black belt. I'd add just enough luk to wear a Doomsday staff. I use a Doomsday staff and I have 26 base luk and all my equips are scrolled for INT/Matk, the Doomsday staff (118matk) besides looking cool has an avg magic att of 37 more than a an average clean wisdom staff/shine wand.(80matk) so if you do the math 37-26luk(the luk I added) + the 4 base luk everyone has. I have a 15matk advantage over a lukless bishop without even scrolling my wand/staff. I Hope that made sense Happy Mapling. Mike

[/quote] meh. you can't forget that you can buy extremely godly gloves / overall / shoes that require ex. lvl 100 or 110, for MUCH less than the price of that item for ex lvl 20 bathrobe. AND at later on, you can maker for int and luck at same time, making that a +10 bonus to overall, shoes, and gloves, a 15 int and 15 luck bonus. so the bonus of going reg / lowluk timeless increases. Doomsday staff used to be hard because it was extremely hard to get a godly one.. im going DDS because of 100% staff for m. atk scrolls <3 A/M = always lukless. if you're going DDS and you have at least 1bill funding, go 10 luck base. later on you get HTP, rings of ancient thought, makerd gear, that helps a lot.

4 Base luck Bishops will always always win. Due to Maple Warriors effect, its better to equip more LUK equips and you'll end up gaining more magic attack, its this way until your FORCED to raise LUK due to the 999 int cap.

All Low Luck/Luck equip Bishop Builds yield only a extremely small magic attack increase over a full Luckless build. None of it is worth it IMO.
