There was the discovery of gravity, and then Einstein's theory of relativity, today however we are on the verge of a scientific breakthrough that could alter the way we view everything. Dark Energy. The Universe is expanding, the expectation would be that this expansion is slowing down, however it's actually speeding up . Dark energy makes up 70% of the Universe, and it is theorized that this invisible force is pushing the Galaxies apart at ever increasing speeds. Dark Energy can not be directly studied because we can not perceive it, but we can see the effects it has on the Universe. There is also Dark Matter, Dark Matter makes up 25% of the Universe, together Dark Energy and Dark Matter make up 95% of the Universe. Dark Matter is capable of bending light, when light from a star passes through Dark Matter, the light becomes distorted. As of yet we do not have an explanation as to where Dark Energy and Dark Matter come from, or what it's purpose is.

that was discovered a long time ago, right now theyre proving it at CERN. http://public.web.cern.ch/public/ and your numbers aren't correct it's 74% dark energy and 22% dark matter
