Quitting maplestory is harder than quitting drugs!

~Is maple getting in the way of school or is school getting in the way of maple? ~ The reason I am bringing this up is because I notice that if I don't play maple-story for a while, nexon will send an email offering small things like safety charms, free 2xexp cards, etc. and ask me to come back and play and then I spend an hour re-downloading maple-story. (which is a pain =_=) So, I have a couple questions: 1) Have you ever thought of quit maple-story ? (why or why not) 2) If you have quit, how long did you last before you played again? 3) Do you consider yourself a maple addict? 4) Is maple-story getting in the way of school, or is school getting in the way of maple? New :5) How old is too old? I'm in college right now, and feel like I should have quit a long time ago. edit: title not meant to offend, I just wanted people to take their videogame addictions more seriously or atleast think about them. Like all addictions, videogame addictions can lead to health issues, can cost alot of money, ruin lives and families. Although, unlike drugs you can't OD on videogames, that doesn't make them any less serious.

I suggest you never take any drugs if you think MapleStory is that hard to break away from. I've "quit" maplestory on and off for 5 years now? or however old MS is going to be. It took me 4 years to get past level 50. You can do school work and play maplestory. It isn't like homework to a high school or middle school student exceeds like 20 minutes per class. >.> Longest time I've gone without maplestory, over a year. I usually come back after a giant patch. (i.e. pirate, cygnus, aran, evan, etc.)

I quit @ the end of my senior year of high school, in 2007. I was addicted, flat-out. I forced myself to quit when I graduated. I came back last month (now in my 3rd yr of college) thanks to friends at college who also play. It's starting to interfere with my work, yes, and I don't even grind like I used to-- because I play for fun, & to spend time with people. I need to balance things out more. Just keep things in perspective & remember that what you do in real-life (education etc.) will affect you years & years after, whereas no one's gonna care about your lvl on Maple when you're applying for a job.

@ icedemon9 LMAO. Well, its good to see that im not the only one with this issue. I am re-downloading maplestory as we speak, and try to convince myself that if I manage my time better it will be okay if I play. I also really want to finish my sader, so if I stop now then I would be a quitter. =_=. Also, how old is too old to be playing maple?

Ive quit for about six months and returned back because a friend was playing it for a while. I casually go on maple to merchant or to grind for a good hour or so.

1) Yes. Every single day. One day, I was planning to quit whole, but then something really fortunate happened, and then I ended up not quitting. I still ponder on it, though. 2) I quit when I got banned (by nexon). I quit for one month. 3) Now that I think about it, I am a Maple Addict. I really need to do something about this. :O 4) No it is not. My grades are still great, and I am still regularly doing my homework. Although I do sometimes miss Maple... :|

(why or why not) I did want to quit because of the way Nexon is handling the east coast lag problems, even saying there is a problem (and we are working on it) would be good enough for me, but they pretend it's not an issue and ignore the 1000's of tickets they recieve. playability did improve a little (stil can't get into some channels but at least i don't pot lag/ kill lag anymore 2) If you have quit, how long did you last before you played again? never really did quit.... a couple of weeks of inactivity thats about it 3) Do you consider yourself a maple addict? i guess, i don't let it get in the way of RL, but ive been playing for like 4 years now so i can't say im not without lying to myself 4) Is maple-story getting in the way of school, or is school getting in the way of maple? nether really (see answer 5) New :5) How old is too old? New :5) How old is too old? I think about 30~40 is too old I'm 12.5.
