I started Maple during the year 2007 in the month of September as soon as my freshman year started. My friends during freshman year told me to play MapleStory because it was fun and free. They were of course making fun of the recent commercial MapleStory had made about the talking fish. So I decided to play and see what it was all about. I had previously been playing RuneScape, but that is an entirely different story. It was a late night in fall when i downloaded Maple, I'd estimate the time around 11:00pm. I thought it would only take about an hour to download then I would play immediately. Oh God, was I wrong. It took about 5 hours to download (I had a very slow computer at the time) and 1 hour more to completely install. It was way too late to play so I would play the next day. My friends told me to make a dexless sin, I had no idea what that was so they just set it up for me. I had rolled really bad luk (I hated that dice thing) and really high int. I went through Maple Island and killed snails until I was level 10, which meant I had to travel to Kerning City and become a Rogue. My friends helped my through HPQ and I was level 21 in about 1 hour. My friends went on their other crappy accounts to help me through KPQ until I was level 30. KPQ took forever considering it was very boring. Finally it was time to make my Assassin which, unfortunately, was when my addiction began. I can�t completely remember where I trained to level 35, but I can vaguely remember training at Teddys. Well as soon as I hit 35 I rushed myself to LPQ, which was the best pq from 35-50, back in the old days. Lol, I can still remember the day someone summon 2 crimson balrogs in the waiting room, gravestones galore. I loved Maple so much I wanted to buy some NX, just to help me improve the game. I can still remember at level 40 I bought a white seal cushion as a weapon from the cash shop. I didn�t want to become a hene-hoe. I started to play more than 6 hours a day completely forgetting my homework and chores. I didn�t care, all I wanted to do was play the game. When I hit level 50 I was in a rut. I wanted to train really fast, so I decided to buy 50k NX to buy 2x experience for 30 days and a lot of gach tickets. I sorely regret making that decision. This was my life. Maple Maple Maple Maple Maple. I would stop going out with my friends, all I would do is play Maple. I need to use all my time to level because I played Maple and Maple was life. Levels went by so quickly 52-56-61-67-70. Time for my third job advancement. Woah, third job, this totally opens new doors. Shadow Partner, Flash Jump, Alchemist, this was the best feeling of my life at the time. Eventually my 2x expired and I had to buy more. No, 2x wasn�t enough. I had to make myself look cooler in order to maintain my status in the game. I bought myself a VIP hair coupon and made myself a metrosexual. I bought a white beanie, slime slippers, a heart shirt. OMFG I WAS TURING INTO A HENE-HOE! Not only that, my friend

You started to play MS in Sept 2007 your freshman year. So it hasn't even been 3 years since starting high school and you're graduated HS? O_o Anyways, addiction is the affect of the lack of self-control, I've been playing MS w/o any hiatus since Nov 2006. And I've been getting good grades since then, I never let MapleStory damage my work.

No. Never give up on life, almost everyone here on basil has between 10 and 20 years, that's just like the start of a big and huge life, don't lose all your hopes when you are just a kid. I mean, there will be moments that you will want to take your head off from your body. That's when you have the chance to show how mature you are, how you can lead with certain situations. I'm not saving going over something will be easy, just like my example, I still find that girl so beautiful, but she just doesn't seem to like me anymore. I cried for a week because I thought me and her would be together for at least few months. Life is hard, it will always be. Always when you fail at something, use that as your weapon, try to find out what you did wrong and on the next time, do it in a way you think it's right. If you see your life is going down the hill, lay on your bed and start to think what you are doing to make it always and always worse. People who are addicted starts to lose their friends slowly till the time they find out that their only and unique friend is their own computer. I just said something for you people to think about, just like I did and still do. I am someone who is addicted to maple and I'm seriously thinking to quit it for a while.

this story reminds me of that tabaco carmercail(not sure how to spell that) thats has ladies in little clothes and they are going out saying "free tabaco". it starts free but then you see other people with nx so you want some so go buy a $25 card ok thats low but then you want more and more and now to max thats fairy skill for evan 3rd mastery you need nx and on addiction the only reason im not addicted is because i have to share the computer with my sister we get one hour each so as much as i hate it and her my sister is the reason im not addicted
