It's not created. The method for obtaining a consistent amount was manual, but the element was present in some other things just they couldnt figure out what it was.

And don't these things only remain in existence for mere fractions of a second? Not only can they not be used for anything at all, they also disintegrate almost instantaneously. Sometimes science does the most mundane things.
