has anyone found out whether it stacks with SE or not? and on that note, if thorns is stakced with SE (from what i've seen) thats 290% dmg with a 50% chance...and that makes me wonder how NL and BM/MM will be effected, im not good with some of the insane math i see on basil so im asking: if every class has a 50% chance of crit and thorns doesnt work for NL or archers, wouldnt ALL other classes rise above them on the dpm table? (sairs still being on the top obviously, heros and pallys being slightly below, then drk's ect) if someone could figure this out for me that would be greatly appreciated.

It only stacks for classes that do not already have Passive Crit. Magicians get a tweaked effect, and Bucs get shafted. Thorns only Crits for them when monsters are Stunned (so no+ at bosses). xD If you run in the usual NL/BM/MM-heavy squads, you won't be affected. It'll just help melees keep up at bosses and Sairs keep their DPM edge (cuz without it, who would take a Sair? lol). xD I'm not too sure on numbers. I saw a calc once, but it was by some nib who still thought Passive Crit was +200%, so dismissed that one. xD

just a note, IIRC i've read a couple of days ago that thorn's critical rate is halved when applied to other party members and when there is a stronger buff that deals with critical rates thorns is cancelled. meaning it'll be 35% success rate for the DB itself but 17.5% for party members, still better than SE i guess [for non archers/sins].

Thorns increase the critical crit rate to 35%, meaning that when you have a higher crit rate, the buff won't do anything. Above of that, you can use SE on it, making it a 50% crit rate, only slightly weaker then archers + SE.

Wait... let me get this straight. So thorns is better than Sharp Eyes, but only affects non-critical users?

^ Yes Thorn only effects non-crit users. NL BM MM Won't get anything from Thorn. Aran's and Evan's do tho.
ColdLite : Arans and Evans have Critical though... 0.0
Lower then 35%. Evans crit rate is 30%, and when a level 70+ Aran has less then 40 combo, it's crit rate is below 35%. In both cases with Thorns the crit rate will change to 35%. When an Aran gets his combo above 40, Thorns has no effect.

well, the main thing im asking is if thorns and SE stack, thats 50% chance to have a higher crit dmg than passive crit (200%) so a hero for example, can do nearly 3x dmg (since thorns+SE=290% crit) with thorns and SE and hits multiple times so it'd be a like a super powered NL (since the hero would have the crit of a non-SE'd nl) using L7, but since warriors already hit harder... that would make their crits do INSANE amounts of damage, in that situation i dont see how NL/MM/BM would have a higher DPM than any warrior class. i kinda posted this thread to see if anyone could figure out whether that theory is valid or not. my main is a bucc and i made this ranger so i can have one of the best bossers dpm wise, with thorns coming out would that still be the case, or no? (not counting the fact that people would want me for SE of course)

If SE + Thorns does stack on ppl with no passive crit, will people take DrKs to boss runs instead of NLs for DPM? lol?

So a melee non-crit class with SE, thorns and a critical ring would have a 60% chance of doing 300% critical?
