| Well this has been a long time coming, and I would like to thank all the people that have made this possible, but I guess I shall start at the top. About a year and a bit back something out of the ordinary happened. I woke up and did my usual early morning routine: put on music, check the fridge for something that resembles breakfast food, checked email and various forums. To no surprise I have a multitude of PM's from Basil, mainly dealing with exercise, diet and general lifestyle questions, except for one, for the first time in my Basil history I get an PM asking advice on career choices, specifically postgraduate studies. This was to be the first time I came in contact with Christina (eeveepony). What started out with a few exchanges of emails regarding postgraduate neuro and psychology courses at the University of Queensland (Australia) soon turned into dozens of emails a week, to chatting via IM and finally to phone and video calls. This unlikely friendship was starting to blossom. Every day at around midnight (Aus time) I would feel an air of excitement surrounding me, for at approximately that moment, 10's of thousands of miles away Christina would awake and get onto Skype to chat to me. Why I would get so excited was beyond me, for in all respects and purposes she was just another girl, another possible notch on my belt for when I visit the US. But somehow this was different, and in a way I could not understand for I have always been an advocate of the uselessness of long distance relationship (as evident by many rants in threads dealing with this issue) . Fast forward to 2010, over a year down, and things have progressed, far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Those online conversations have progressed to phone calls and drunken texts. Not a night goes by when we do not wish each other a "good night." Furthermore organisation of an actual meet up starts to be formed. Before I know it I am holding in my hand a ticket around the world, with the final destination being NY. Now I won't bore you any further, and will get to the point of this thread. I am not a person who takes a lot of chances, for all my life in everything I tend to precisely calculate risks. And this is one moment I could not pass up for the risks involved in going through with this far outweighs those of not. And while I originally planned this for when we finally meet, recent circumstances have made me rush things just a tad so bare with me. Christina is currently at the Zoo, so I am not sure if she will read this straight away. But with any luck and with your support in keeping this thread alive this might just happen. So here we go Dear Christina , how chaotic and valueless is my life seems without you. Even though I have known you for only a short year you have become the purpose of my living, the reason of my morning and the hope of my night. You are the blossom flower of my garden, the white clouds in my sky and the warm fire in my winter. My day is dull and |
