| Disclaimer: I've filed a complaint to the AC Transit website. AC stands for Alameda County. Im infuriated by the service of some employees at AC Transit. Today on the bus 210, as the bus driver came close to this bus stop, he clearly saw an elderly man coming toward the bus. So the bus driver decided to stop to let him go on, (It was less than 10 meters from the actual bus stop sign). And by stop I mean he slowed down to a point where the bus was not moving, and the front door was open. And just as the elderly man stepped his foot on the bus, the bus driver decided to accelerate to where the actual bus stop is. Thank goodness the elderly man had good balance, he couldve fallen so hard backwards that he might have fractured his back. As the elderly man came onto the bus, he asked the driver why would he do such a thing. The driver in turn yelled at the elderly man and told him that he had no right to come toward the bus, and that the bus would pull right in front of the bus stop. The elderly man tried to talk, but the bus driver just kept on yelling and told him to hurry up and sit down. And the only reason, according the the elderly man, that he walked toward the bus was that he once missed a bus by just standing next to the bus stop sign. I have seen kids that have more respect for their peers than this. The Federal Government will supply $950 million dollars toward the AC Transit, and all of that money came from OUR pockets, and this is the service we get when we take the AC transit. I dont know why those bus drivers are so prideful. This was not the first time Ive seen a driver like this. Just because they have a strong union behind them, it doesnt mean they can discriminate and pull jokes like that on people boarding the bus, especially an elderly man. This post was from my Tumblr [ http://jasonliu.tumblr.com/post/488425529/this-is-what-we-get-for-the-taxes-we-pay ] Tell me what you think about this issue. |

| In general, bus driver's are asses. There's a few nice ones, but most of the ones I get are grumpy. Like I was standing almost right next to the driver because the seats were taken, and the bus went to pull away. Right before that, I saw this old lady running and waving towards the bus, so I said "Hey man, wait a sec, there's a lady running for the bus." and he just said "Oh well, she should've been here on time, not my problem." and drove away. I was just like ... |

SORRY. and then like a block after, it was our stop, along with this old lady. It even said on the top "STOP REQUESTED" and she kept on going. We were like wdfux. So the lady and us were like standing in the front telling her that we requested a stop. The old lady wasn't holding on to anything and finally we got the driver to stop, after a block later >_>. When she stopped, she hit the breaks hard and the lady bumped and fell down. And the bus driver was all "SEE THIS IS WHY YOU BE CAREFUL. GOSH PEOEPLE THESE DAYS" We were like, what the hell? |

| TheBus (the public transit system in Hawaii) was ranked near, if not at the top, of customer satisfaction and service in the country. Just sharing. :> But there was this one time where I was running to catch the bus, but the bus had started moving already, albeit slowly. Traffic stopped it a few feet down the road and I knocked on the door for him to let me in. He refused and pointed behind him with his thumb, signaling me to wait for the next bus. As I walked back, I noticed two attractive women approach the bus and a few moments later, the doors opened for them. I got on and quietly walked towards the back while getting online with my phone to file a complaint. |

| ITT: Basilers who think Busses are their personal taxi. Was the old man at the bus stop? No. Therefore the old man didn't have the right to step on unless the bus driver explicitly stated so. So go on and cry to AC how they're doing their job right. Also, don't bother trying to explain some 'tacit agreement' between the two parties due to the bus slowing down because there wasn't one. |

When I take the bus, sometimes the driver stops a little bit before the actual bus stop and opens the doors, so I walk a few steps and get on. |
Yeah, but when the old man has one foot inside the door and the bus driver decides to speed off, there's got to be something against that. If not, it's just plain cruel. |

| After reading your post, I do feel sorry for the old man and agree the service should be made better, but I very much doubt it will ever as people are going to catch a bus whether the service is how it is now, or better. In the UK, well England to be specific we have a bus group called First Buses. It'd be unusual for them to wait for you to sit down, they always drive off when you're walking to a seat, you just have to try your best to be in the front of the queue so you can sit while others are being served. It's especially hard walking upstairs when the bus is moving at 30mph. |
Actually, you could argue that with the bus driver. Also, the TS said the bus stopped a little less than 10m; that isn't "a bit before the stop." |
