Volleyball or my Girlfriend ?

Ehh , so I joined the volleyball team(Highschool). It's been pretty good , I have my first game coming up on Wednesday. Though I feel volleyball drifts me away from my girlfriend. There were countless times when she asked me "What are you doing after school today ?" -in a happy mood- I told her "Uhm ... I have volleyball practice today. Sorry." then she would do this sad face. She says "Okay. I guess I'll just go home now." -she feels totally down-. It hurts me to see her like that. Today was one of my best days with my girlfriend, so I decided to skip a practice for her. It felt great to be free with her ! : ) I came to practice about the time it should have ended. Turns out there was no practice because of lack of players today ; like half the team skipped the practice. Now the volleyball team is going to have a meeting tomorrow about choosing to keep the team or not. The coach told me that it's all about commitment. And she mentioned that I have committed to the team by signing all the papers which I had handed-in already. I thought and it made me think about volleyball , but then the word "Love" came to my mind. Generally , love is defined as committing yourself to a person. Thinking about the outcome of leaving the team : - More time with my girlfriend <3 - No need to worry about winning/losing - Takes the weight off my back Thinking about the outcome of sticking with the team : - Less time with my girlfriend </3 - I have to worry about what other's think (it's a natural thing) - And it makes me nervous (suggested by a friend) - The more we are away from eachother , the more we will want eachother (suggested by a friend again) - If I can't commit to volleyball , how am I going to commit to my girlfriend ? You may be thinking "Ohhh your too young for this crap." or "Dude , you're still in highschool. Nothing serious.". Well you know what ? Maybe if you understood what it's like having a girl to love that loves you back, you'll know exactly what position I'm in. Soo referring back to the title. " Volleyball or my Girlfriend ? If she's your girlfriend, she'll understand your situation and not make a big deal out of it. If you're her boyfriend, you'd definitely try to spend a bit more time with her every so often, to show her that she means something more than your sports game. Otherwise, in your eyes, and her's, both of you are two people who can't mutually understand eachother, and the whole thing will fall apart.
