pengwinb0i : hahaa but ravkin is a real pro(: he knows alot
I was just about to mention ravkin, then I saw that you beat me to it... 0.o And weren't there one or two other arch mages commenting on that thread? Anyway, bishops are good for support, pizards lvl obscenely fast, i/l's... I think they're pretty good in 3rd job? In retrospect, I don't know why I picked i/l over f/p... all 4th job mages get ultimates, and f/p and i/l are pretty similar in 4th job. I hear that i/l arch mages will fail compared to f/p after the balance patch, though.

Pros: F/P: High Damage on their Attacks, potentially fast training speed with Poison. I/L: Flashy attacks, powerful and quick mobbing skills, potentially saves many potions with Freeze. Cleric: Supportive, very low potion cost. Cons: F/P: Limited to single-target attacks until 3rd Job I/L: Limited training speed during 3rd Job Cleric: Low damage That's the basic run-down... I'm sure there's a lot of stuff missing though :/
iaamme : i/l's... I think they're pretty good in 3rd job?
Average 3rd job, faster then priests yet (much) slower then F/P.
iaamme : I hear that i/l arch mages will fail compared to f/p after the balance patch, though.
Not really since Blizz freeze it doesnt really matter to go few more levels for 1Hit skele (around Lv13x after the balance patch). F/p were always faster so few more levels won't matter to I/L's. IMO Freeze=30 more base attack, finally "balance" (F/P are supposed to be stronger). I/L's will get more boost in 1vs1 DPM though (still weaker then F/P in most cases, but almost the same).
Kalemora : Actually, it'll be more balanced.
Agreed. OT:
EluNirvelli : Pros & Cons of making a Cleric Pros: Clerics are probably the most necessary class in the game. They are very welcome in any party because of their Heal, and great party skills [such as Holy Symbol and Dispel at 3rd job]. You barely use ANY HP pots! The fact that you can heal yourself instead of using HP pots like any other class makes Clerics to be considered as the richest class in the game, often great as funders. In addition, in most cases Undead and Dark monsters drop fairly expensive and useful items. Please do note- it is recommended that you take along HP pots with you just for backup- in case you lag, get stunned/sealed, or hit the wrong key instead of Heal. When speaking of leveling up speed, Clerics are considered to be one of the fastest out of all classes, because they can mob even if heal does very weak damage [compared to other classes]. At 3rd job, Clerics level up fast because of parties and HS. At 3rd job, Clerics get some fun new skills, such as Doom [Turns multiple monsters into snails!], Holy Symbol [Everyone in the party can gain more EXP while hunting monsters], Mystic Door [Creates a portal that heads to the nearest town] etc. They also get a new offensive skill, Shining Ray. At 4th job, as Bishops, they get an insane power boost- they're almost as strong as Arch Mages. Cons: Clerics are not supposed to make high damage, compared to other classes. Their main goal is to heal and support the party. Thats a good thing, since every high-leveled party needs a Cleric/Priest, but it might seem boring to some people- healing the party and not making any serious damage. That's of course until 4th job. As a result to the low damage, when Clerics train solo, they often get KSed by other classes. Clerics are very common in the game, so finding parties might be difficult if you're looking in the wrong place. Out of all the 3rd job mage attacking skills, Shining Ray has the worst range. For Poison Mist, Explosion and Ice Strike, all three of them improve in range, damage and mastery as points are put into them. For Shining Ray, it's only the damage and mastery.

EluNirvelli : Pros & Cons of making an I/L Wizard Pros: You have the biggest advantage of all- you are able to freeze mo
iTzNeMo : if ur bishop, 23 luk is best, dont listen to the haters.
Oh right you conveniently neglected to mention that as a 23 luk bishop you only shine when you hit 196+... Fyi every level beneath 196, the lukless has greater potential than you. Guess what else, in the process of going 8-196 as lukless rather than 23 base luk, a lukless bishop will get more mp than you,AND when they hit 196 and have the extra aps, they can choose to add into luk and convert to low luk. In the end lukless will give you more options, if you do end up reaching such a high level you'll still be able to convert to low luk. If you start out 23 luk you'll be weaker 196-, you'll have less mp, and you're stuck as low luk unless you plan on spending money on 19 ap resets. Go lukless. In the end if you hate it you can still convert, and you get more mp until then too. The best for lukless is pretty much either AM currently, but after the balance patch, f/ps will end up getting more damage per int/magic.

I personally find its more about which play style you like more. I really like playing a F/P; I tried making a cleric once and it wasn't really my style. Bishops will save you a ton on pots (well to my knowledge at least for a while). F/P's are probably the best for damage and leveling. I/L get to mob earlier though, and get to freeze their enemies. Whichever you choose good luck to you.
