| Hello! Have seen alot of threads recently that is asking if lukless/lowluk will beat regular luk magicians. My opinion is that lukless will be better than any other magician build (damage wise) at the moment (would be nice if nexon would make it so luk adds magic attack to balance it all out). In this thread I will hopefully make my points clear to my fellow basilers because I'm getting kinda tired of all theese "Shall I be regular luk because of my funding bla bla bla..." threads. At the moment there are two diferent kind of magicians (cleric/priest/bishop and mages with a certain alement F/P or I/L) and they need to be discussed separetly, mostly due to the elemental wands that adds a certain percentage extra damage if you use a certain element with the right weapon. Do NOT think that I'm saying that all regular luk or low luk mages is crap, everyone is free to build their players in their own way, damage isnt everything! If you have fun I think you should be happy and proud about your character! (Sidenote: will also tell why I think lukless outdamage regular luk mages no matter what funding you have) Mages (F/P and I/L) As many of you can figure out, everyone starts with different funds ! I would say that there are three kinds of cathegories; no funds at all, mid funded (can afford to fully equip your mage right away) and heavily funded (have money to spend on thoose extra equips like face accesories, m.att shields etc.). • Low funds (no funds) This is the way I think of it, because you dont have money to scroll any of your equips (because the low funds) I will mainly focus on weapons because they gives the greatest m.att boost. Lukless equips: wodden wand, noctural staff (you get it by doing the lvl 50 quest in NLC wich is free), shine wand (by lvl 64 you would have done some quest so you have at least 15m for this kind of weapon). This is were I will stop in this cathegory because low funded mages cannot affort elemental weapons! Regular luk equips: All wands/staffs avalable. Think of it all this way: m.att gained=(weapons magic att + int) - (weapons luk requirement-luk boost from equip or base) As you may know, lukless weapons requires 0 luk to wear therefore the int+magic att equals the magic attack gained. Example: Regular mage using Magicodar VS. lukless wearing Wodden wand Reg luk: m.att gained=(103+1)-(86)=28 Lukless: m.att gained=23 (Sidenote: I'm not including equips but by lvl 90 a lukless mage should have done the NCL quest for noctural staff so therefore the lukless mage will get a greater magic attack boost, this was just an extreme example) • Mid funds It's now getting interesting! Because it's now you can clearly see why lukless is "better" than reg. luk/low luk mages! Now, let's see what the different kinds of mages will use: Can assume that they all will use a regular stat zakum helmet and a deputy star, all mages also have enought funds to wear their elemental weapon (not the lvl 130 and 164 ones because they fall in the las |

| In some of your equations you forgot that all characters have at least 4 base luk. For example, in your equation comparing the magicodar and wooden wand you put: Reg luk: m.att gained=(103+1)-(90)=14 When it should be: Reg luk: m.att gained=(103+1)-(86)=14 Since a regular mage added 86 luk to arrive at 90 total, not 90. |

| well for one, luckless mages always get much higher MP, especially if they are well funded, so they can buy INT equips. On average, I bet they gain about 10-20 mp more per level? |

Dont know how much more MP they will get each lvl, someone else may know this. I'm also curious. |

All I ask of the lukless community is that they don't disrespect and/or make fun of me for my personal choices. |

I forgot the exact amount, 128xx or something, but the mp's were so close. @angelxholy: Nobody has ever said that low luk or reg luk is fail, but the only thing people do recognize lukless for is damage/mp. And nobody has ever (at least from the mage threads I've seen) disrespected you for being whatever build you are, and not like people would do that. But I've seen you attack quite a few people for simply stating that lukless has superior damage. As much as you want people to respect that you chose your build for your own personal reasons, you should respect the decisions of others to be lukless as well. |

It's fixed now anyways, but yes the extra int you get as lukless does add up a bit. |

On your reg luk, how did you add the luk, did you add it asap or did you add some luk each lvl or did you add it as late as possible? Wouldnt they affect the mp you will have in the end? 2. Did you have the same int boost on both chars (int boost from equips) because wouldnt that make a big difference? |

[/quote] 1: I don't remember how I did it initially, but early on i added it the standard way, +1 luk, +4 int but then as I neared lv 78 on my bishop I stopped at 77 luk. I accidentally added 3 dex somewhere along that path though so .... 2: I had more int from equips on my ice AM simply because I cared more about damage on my AM, when you have a supporting class like a bishop damage doesn't really matter on it. I probably have less int/magic total than my lukless ice AM stripped of everything except its wand. |

| dude. everyone knows that lukless beats low luk A/M F/P. This is, like, common sense. Low luk Bishops, in other hand, are stronger than lukless bishops IF they have enough funding, and the difference in damage is negligible. |
