I attempted to DL a multiple maplestory program(that I won't name) to make free wins/shop+training on 2 accs. easier, faster, and less laggy. And now I think I ended up with a Keylogger because after looking it up a little, I found out that those programs normally have keyloggers attached. How do I know if I have one and how to remove it? I already scanned with AVG and it didnt catch one. I also scanned with Norton Anti Virus and caught nothing. Any tips?

Well if you get hacked, then you'll know that there was a keylogger, if it does happen, it's your fault either way, for downloading whatever that program is..

Just scan your comp and it should remove the keylogger.

Well if Norton AND AVG didn't pick it up, you're probably safe... for now.

I was worried that I might have had one from crazy multi so I just changed my password (I also deleted it and then did a system restore on my computer to be on the safe side) EDIT: I got mine from a friend who said he got it from a hacking website, and his account didn't get hacked, but I changed it anyway.. Just in case.

My friends account didn't get hacked or anything, but I wanted to be on the safe side, you know just in case :P

BobRFirst thing- you shouldn't be running TWO different anti-virus programs on the same computer. They can conflict with each other and cause problems. You SHOULD however be running an "anti-spyware" program in addition to your anti-virus. That's safe to do, and can help pick up things that one or the other might miss. In particular, "keyloggers" are considered "spyware", so it's a good idea to run a program specifically designed to find that kind of thing. A good anti-spyware program that's well recognized as being particularly effective is "Malwarebytes". Google the name for the download link. If both your anti-virus AND Malwarebytes don't find anything on your system you can be pretty much sure that you dodged a bullet- this time. To keep your system clean, be sure to run BOTH the anti-virus AND the anti-spyware scanners on a REGULAR basis, and keep both of them UPDATED regularlly too.

@ BobR regular basis as in how much? Once a month is fine unless you're paranoid or visit unknown/potentional hack websites everyday(which shouldn't be the case unless you're doing something illegal). I'm sure Malwarebytes doesn't pick up cookie tracking, it's an anti-malware program. You'd need something like super anti-spyware for that

Go to a friends house and change your password there. Then wipe your home computer's hard drive.

I also run "Spybot Search and Destroy" occasionally because I like some of its features, as well as its resident protections As far as tracking cookies, AVG takes good care of them, quarantining them automatically so I never have to worry about them. It only takes one click on the wrong link and your computer can be infected within seconds. Once a month is a long time when dealing with computers.
