paper airplane stars not recharging

so i jsut went out to the free market and bought a couple sets of paper air planes for my sin to use...i transfered them to him and went to go recharge but it wont let me. i tried different stores and nothing. can anyone tell me why i cant recharge them?

I don't know if they ever fixed it so you can recharge them.

I heard somewhere that you use less money if you recharge a classic star instead of those new ones.
