Atheism is the new emo

Just like how it was gangsters, and emos, atheism is the new trend. For every one legit atheist (person who actually did legit research and made own choice), there's like a bajilion trenders (the lol god dune exist types).

Dude, if you don't believe in god or supernatural stuff, you're automaticly a non-believer/athiest. It's not like people decide: Hey let's be athiests. You either believe, or you don't. Just because people finally start to think for themselves these days instead of believing everything they are told doesn't make them trenders. You could say the same for Christians, even more. Why do they all think a like about life? They just follow eachother, even if you would believe in supernatural stuff you could still make up your own faith. Yet nobody does that and everyone just blindly follows the rest. Why research btw? How can you do research? To understand the universe and life you can either go to logics and science or you could get the answers from any religion. You believe in what you think is true, and not what you think is right or the best way. Today, a lot of people find it more likely that scientists are right since they base everything on facts. Facts are more important to a lot of people then stories are.

That's how it used to be ~10 years ago around where I live. Now, the majority are religious, in some way or another.

you don't even know what you're saying. Many scientists do research and just know so much about life and space, that it makes a lot of sense to them that there is no god. Most of them just keep it to themselves, and respect other peoples' religious choices.

Sadly this is true. Alot of atheists simply reject religion at face value, and don't really consider it.

I really doubt Atheism is the new "trend". Kids these days just don't care about religion for the most part, or so it seems to me. I didn't exactly "do research", just quite frankly, I don't believe there is a higher power. Simple as that.

Almost every scientist who studies things like the universe wants to find evidence and proof of the real workings of the universe and they publicize their works too. They don't go around saying believers are idiots, offcourse they don't, that's not their job. I doubt they respect people who tell them they are wrong, simply because of the fact that they don't base everything on religion. Scientist: Here's something that's proof of the big bang. Believer: You're wrong, because God says so. Scientist: Uhhhh.... Facepalm

i dont think being atheist is the new trend. (well at least not where im from) me and one other guy are atheist in my entire school, and when we get into a regilous debat some people respect the fact that we come to the conclusion our selfs and it was not tought to us. and other think that my parents beat it into our heads which is ironic coz thats what happens with religion.

The only way you could possible know how religion works is by having someone else telling you. If you believe anything that person says then you're easily brainwashed into believing. If you never tell somebody off religion he would automaticly become an athiest, simply because he just tries to understand everything logicaly. He won't make up stuff just to explain the unexplainable.

Yeah ok, I agree, somewhat. But for every religious person that's actually researched their religion and made the choice for themselves, there's a ton more that have been brainwashed/born into it/"trenders." It's just that people these days are starting to be more open minded and logical.
