Something that doesn't make sense

Why is Evan able to teleport if he's a farm boy? It's not like he has special powers like his dragon.

The dragon uses teleport on him... why does medi. effect the whole party when only a mage has it?

Everyone on maple island is a crappy hobo that doesn't live with their parents anymore for some reason, then they gain special powers and what not. A farm boy can easily do the same.
