| Was surfing around on the net and found some really disgusting pictures of a womman called Jennifer Daugherty. She was being tortured and killed and then dumped in fron of a school! WTF is some peoples thinking with? Here is an article the describes it all:
cbsnews : Jennifer Daugherty, a mentally disabled woman in rural Pennsylvania allegedly suffered unimaginable horrors at the hands of her killers, who her father says pretended to be her friends.

cbsnews : They fed her vegetable oil, spices, detergent, urine and medications, then forced her to write a suicide note, before they stabbed her to death, wrapped her in plastic, put her in a garbage can and dumped her in a school parking lot, police and relatives said Friday.

cbsnews : The head of the 30-year-old had been shaved, and she had been bound with Christmas decorations and clothing; she also was hit with a towel rack, vacuum cleaner hose and a crutch, according to an affidavit. Six people were charged with criminal homicide, kidnapping and related charges in the death of Daugherty, who was missing since Monday and whose body was found Thursday at Greensburg Salem Middle School, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. Charged were Robert Loren Masters Jr., 36, Ricky Smyrnes, 23, Melvin Knight, 20, Amber Meidinger, 20, all of Greensburg; a 17-year-old girl from Greensburg; and Peggy Darlene Miller, 27, of Mount Pleasant Township. All were being held without bond in the Westmoreland County prison. It was not clear whether they had attorneys. Stepfather Bobby Murphy, 62, of Mount Pleasant, told The Associated Press that the victim had the mental abilities of a 12 to 14-year-old. According to an affidavit of probable cause, Knight admitted stabbing Daugherty in the chest, side and neck, and he and Smyrnes carried her body to the parking lot. All six defendants admitted their involvement and implicated others, according to police. A man found Daugherty's body Thursday morning when he saw the plastic garbage can partially beneath his truck.
Source I really hope that everyone that was involved in the "treatment" of her should be sentenced to death... This it what they did to her, I saw it on the pictures so I'm not lying! -They burned her nipples with candles, they were yellow'ish and bubbly on the pictures. It also looked that there was something pouring out of them. -They burned of her hair off -They burned off her ears -They put candles and burned the organ between her legs beyond recognition. There was just a big black slimy hole left after they was done. -Plus the whole body was burned and beaten I will NOT show the pictures of her being tortured and killed because I don't think you wanna see them and I don't wanna be suspended! |

| Nobody should be sentenced to death since it's a basic human right that you deserve to live. The people who did this are sick and twisted but commiting murder to those people would not only lower yourself to their level, it wouldn't solve the problem. |

And if you are still against capitol punishment then what should be done to them? You got any better suggestion? |

Think for myself and not be influenced by my emotions and try to make a rational decision, which is putting them in jail for life and keep it that way. If someone is rehabilitated they should be given their freedom back, I don't think it'll work in the USA though since nobody rehabilitates there in prisons. It only makes things worse. There is a law and a punishment for mutilation and murder and it shouldn't be ignored. If you keep letting your emotions in the way there's no way you could make a rational decision for what's best for the victims, the criminal and eventually society. I think the american judical system has proved that higher punishments only lead to higher crime rates. |

People this sick are generally incapable of being rehabilitated. To put simply they got a major screw loose. Keeping THESE kind of non-rehabilitatable people in prison is a waste of life. These people deserve to die. I'm sure the family of the victim would agree in this case. And I'd like to see your fact checking on "higher punishment = higher crime rate". Hammurabi had a strict code of law not because it didn't work. An eye for an eye may make us all blind, but at the very least the blindness keeps people from committing more crimes. I'm calling your BS. |
Well, I can see it this way; trying to "rehabilitate" all the criminals would cost alot and you wont even know if the treatment will do anything. They may just continue killing when they get out. Would you want to risk our "normal" peoples lifes? I think that it's pretty stupid, having alot of murders in jail for the whole life. It's just putting alot of unnecessary stress on the communitys economy. Why don't we just get rid of the problems instead? And I think that the last thing you wrote, I'm quoting: "higher punishments only lead to higher crime rates", I don't think so. I my country you will only get like 15 years for murder, I can't really see how lowering the punishment would decrase the crime rate. (I'm not american and we dont have capitol punishment in my country) |
Well I don't know about you but killing people who cause the problem doesn't solve anything. You think killing poor people would decrease poverty? Besides, who says these people aren't rehabilitable. You don't know these people, you don't know their motives, reasons and intentions. There could be just one mastermind in this all and half of those people could have been dragged in with the proces. They could easily rehabilitate, just not in american prisons.
jonatan : Well, I can see it this way; trying to "rehabilitate" all the criminals would cost alot and you wont even know if the treatment will do anything.
You don't release someone who's not rehabilitated, so they won't just continue with their crime spree. Murder doesn't solve anything, I mean just look at the situation in the USA. Really high punishments and little investment in rehabilitation programs, yet an incredible high crime rate. Here punishments are relativly low and prisoners spend more years in actual rehabilitation programs than they spend in prison. Yet most of those people don't commit a crime. The only explanation is that rehabilitation works, you think that people are just generally more criminal in the USA than in other countries with lower punishments, no offcourse not. The time spent in jail influences the prisoners behavior after he is released. If the time spent in jail is just a punishment instead of a rehabilition program, the prisoner has no way to see what he did was wrong. The only reason not to commit that crime again is to avoid jail, here they try to make prisoners understand why what they did is wrong and by therapy they slowly become normal citizens again. The crime rates simply proof it all. Another thing, if someone smokes weed/hasjish or any other drug and gets c |

| There's no reason for someone involved in her torture, or anyone involved in a murder - a cold blood murder- should be able to go to jail and get parole, after getting a college education for free. "Life is a human right;" what about that woman they tortured? You think its fair for a murderder to go free because of his "human right," when he stole someone's right to live? When their family, bf/gf, friends, teachers, coworkers, and other acquaintances will have to go on, remembering what happened to the one they cared for? There are too many shades of gray to justice, today. |

You must be from America, I know you guys haven't developed very well on this area so I feel like I'm talking to someone from medieval times and I really can't argue with someone who thinks the solution to murder is murder. |
