If you want to skip to the point, scroll to bottom If you want to skip to the point, scroll to bottom I am looking for a new laptop. I currently have 4 computers (2 desktops, 2 laptops) 1 desktop is crappily slow (6 years old), 1 desktop is good (1 year old), 1 laptop with bad screen (5 years old), and 1 laptop has a bad hard drive. (1.5 years old) I am looking to try and sell all 4 of these, or sell the 2 laptops and try and get like 50 bucks for the slow desktop. The laptops are a Dell Inspiron 1505 with 512 MB of memory, and XP Operating System. The other laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525, 3 GB of memory, and a Vista Operating System. I dont even know what the first desktop is, I am too lazy to find out. But it is a Dell and it is about 700 dollars new, and it has an XP Operating System. The other desktop is a Gateway G...something (bunch of numbers) and it is about 750 dollars new, with 3 GB of memory. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pretty much I am hoping to get about 1000 dollars for selling all of these computers, and I want to buy a decent gaming computer, that can also do regular applications that a normal computer can do such as Word, Powerpoint, etc. I dont want to even bother with Dell, and I dont really like my gateway computer, cuz in the year ive had it, i have taken it in to best buy for repairs at least 4 or 5 times. So I am looking for a different manufacturer, that is not Dell or Gateway. Anyone wanna help out?

I love my Toshiba; perfect for everyday usage, but Asus is cheap/great for gaming.

Alienware is a rip off, you're just paying for the name. TS, I would suggest you look into Toshiba, ASUS, or Sony VAIO laptops. I'm going to get a Sony VAIO and I think the F series is good for gaming with a decent price.

Mage1052
MyOracle : I like my alienware...
ok....what's your point? My laptop cost me around $1400 and it can run almost all games. It can surely run mw2 on very high settings. For 1000 dollers you could buy this. It seems to fit all your desires and is under your price range. You can spend the extra money on mw2 :o

Get an HP. You'd be amazed at the features you get for the price. For $725 USD I got... -AMD Quad-Core Processor -8GB DDR3 RAM -1TB Hard Drive -ATI 4350 (512MB) video card. It's just amazing because I configured a Dell like this, except it had an Intel processor, and with even WORSE ram it was $1,160

You should just get a gaming desktop instead... For the same price, desktops are always more powerful.
