Source (Official Site) Dear Maplers, MapleStory will be going through a scheduled maintenance Wednesday, March 2nd, 2010 starting at 10 PM Pacific Time. Please be aware that, as part of a network-wide maintenance, all web features will be unavailable. This will affect the ability to access all game servers, as well as the MapleStory website. The maintenance should last approximately 11 hours. <MapleStory Maintenance> Server: All Servers The Following Services Will Be Unavailable: MapleStory website NX Cash services Time: Pacific: Tuesday, March 2, 10:00 PM � Wednesday, March 3, 9:00 AM Eastern: Wednesday, March 3, 1:00 AM � Wednesday, March 3, 12:00 PM The following bugs have been fixed: - The issue with stuns and freezes not working has been fixed. - Using a Dimensional Mirror will no longer disconnect the player. - Players should now be able to view all characters when Web Launching. New Cash Shop Items Added: Orange Mushroom Scholar Bunny Ears LED Sunglasses Roaring Tiger Messenger Happy Mapling!

The GM in Scania that released his info did so while quitting his job. He released the information for the purpose of proving to Nexon that the new "security upgrade" (making us change our password every 3 months, having to log-in through the website, and the changing of the PIN system over to the new PIC system) was complete crap. He wanted to prove to Nexon that the security was flawed, and even without giving his PIC, they would be able to get on his account by bypassing the PIC. Ec.ko did this, and as a result started banning innocent players, as the GM quitting knew would happen. Both the GM's account and Ec.ko's CAPC0M account are on the permaban list now because of this breach. Nexon (Hime) releases a notice on Saturday night trying to calm the fray down, and keep people from panicking. Meanwhile, after being permabanned, Ec.ko is pissed off that he gets banned for security flaws that were Nexon's fault to begin with, and the whole point of the entire situation happening anyway. He releases a new hack that actually does exist and remotely hacks peoples accounts if they're stupid enough to be lured. Meanwhile, Nexon avoids the entire discussion and bans any mention of the situation on their forums. Nexon is trying to sweep all this under the rug. The game is in shambles right now, and instead of admitting what happened, rolling the game back a week to before all this happened, shutting down the servers, and banning all those responsible for all the duping and server crashes, Nexon moves forward and refuses to refund the NX lost and acts as though it never happened. Announcing the permabans and this patch is there way of doing two things: 1) trying to make it seem as if they're on top of things, and 2) using this server check to try and fix the issues without having to roll back, leaving all the duped items in game, and not having to do their jobs and look for the people that need to be banned. It's a cover-up, plain and simple. The PIC system is total crap. Nexon knows it. The GM that quit knows it. Ec.ko knew it as well. Now this remote hack is his revenge. Don't believe me? I don't care. This is the truth about what's been going on this week, and truly shows how much Nexon cares about it's customers, compared to the almighty dollar. Your accounts are not safe. The PIC is easily bypassed, and the remote hack is real. [/quote] pretty much sums it up i would say.

O_o It's like a second password, but with more possible combinations (max of 16 characters), AND it can't be keylogged. It sounds pretty awesome to me...
