Why is no one interested in weight GAIN?

Honestly, 90% of programs are geared towards weight loss, tight six-pack, etc. Are there more obese people than there are average/skinny people who are better off getting more size? Makes no sense at all... half of guys with 'nice abs' are less than remarkable in other places, so what's the deal with this ab hype? PS: http://www.profil3.com/group/2282

Honestly, when I was training, I would eat until I'm about to regurgitate all my food, for 3/5 meals a day. In that one month span, my bench went up 40-50 pounds (though it may be due to form) while my bodyweight went up by 2.
