|
Torchalan : 6 packs are based on body fat percentages, so eat better. When I say eat better I mean eat a lot of eggs, meat, fruits, vegetables, olive oil. Nothing else. No processed foods. No 100 calorie packs. No "Healthy Nutri-Grain Bars". You may as well eliminate grains altogether for the reason that they're highly processed. Edit : Would you look better being thin with a 6-pack or gaining about 30-40 pounds of both fat and muscle, then slowly slimming down to having a 6pack while still being relatively big?
I would think the first option is bettter? But I kinda need grains for running, cause I'm doing cross country :P And I don't fall for those things that say, "Try this and you'll be thinner in 1 hour :DDDD." Also, is milk out of the question o-o |

|
Torchalan : If the TS wanted to develop the abdominal muscles he would have to promote sacroplasmic hypertrophy via moderate intensity moderate-high rep sets while eating a caloric surplus. That's basic science, you can look it up anywhere. Doing thousands of an exercise does not build muscle, especially if you don't eat a caloric surplus.
Or you could just buy a six pack of beers. |

Ab exercises make you core stronger and your six pack will look better if it's revealed. |

Also, is milk out of the question o-o
I recommend doing real research because you can not trust anyone in an online forum ,myself included (though I would love to be right on everything in this subject). If you eat grains remember that not all are equal ; oats tend to be better than bread and pasta, which are flour based. I am currently drinking 8 cups of full fat milk a day on squat days, and because of that my squat has gone from 110lbs to 200lbs in a short amount of time (video of myself squatting 200) . However, on a fat loss diet milk tends to just be extra calories without really satisfying an appetite. Liquid tends to do that. |
I would recommend doing ab exercises to get your abs more defined, but remember that they do not burn fat so cardio and a healthy diet are most important. That's complete and utter bull-crap. Anything that uses calories (living, any movements at all) burns fat so long as there is a caloric deficit. High protein diets are generally recommended along with high intensity strength training to avoid the loss of any muscle mass. Cardio is ineffective at burning fat as opposed to lifting weights, in addition.
You got it all wrong brother. Ab exercises do not burn much fat at all. Although weight lifting is okay for burning fat, cardio is much better. Who has more body fat, long distance runners or guys in the strongest man competition? He is not trying to gain muscle mass, he is trying to get a six pack, and he wont see it unless the fat is burned off. |

Long Distance Runners obviously have less body fat than a strong man, for a strong man has to eat about 6k-8k calories a day, and a strong man does not care about body fat because they realize that if you get fatter you will usually get stronger (if you stress the muscles). What I was trying to say is that "toning" a muscle can not happen, you either lose bodyfat or you don't. As for cardio or weight training being more effective, are you talking about slow, long distance cardio or quick circuit bursts that feature all out sprinting followed by rest and repeat? |
