So on Friday, one of my friends was playing Mario Kart for the N64 on his computer. I asked him how he got it, and he said he got it from a website. Isn't this illegal? EDIT: Why would it matter if you own the game or not? Aren't you basically getting more stuff for your money?

And like everyone else has said, it's only legal if he owns both the game system and the game itself physically. Oh, and if you use the Dolphin emulator, you can play Wii games at HD, which is actually higher graphics than the Wii itself can output.

Limewire and uTorrent are P2P clients. Are they illegal? no. Is pirating media illegal? yes. So yes, it is illegal.

I think emulators are legal..but the only illegal thing about it is that you'd need to dump your BIOS which IS illegal so yea there we go

[/quote] It's an electronic copy of the game, so it's a copy of something you already have and paid for. Essentially you could've gotten that same copy had you a cartridge reader. If you didn't own it, however, you would have had to buy the physical cartridge to own it and be able to copy the rom off of it.
