Maple from the Website

Will running the game from the website require you to have to download the game to play? Or does the game run on the website without a download?

It will be EXACTLY like it is now, except it will take you to the Website to log in, instead of to the current MapleStory login screen. You'll still have to download the whole 1.8GB game client and have to worry about having enough space on your C: drive to get it installed, and go through the same patching headaches. The only difference is now Nexon can bomb you with "Buy NX Now!" ads before you get to play.

@above- they have "indefinitely delayed" the new patch. Part of the new patch is the website login, so that's why you can still log in the old way. Nexon has already announced in quite a bit of detail how the website login will work, in Notices on the official Maple site. Of course, they're known to change thier minds about stuff like that, so true- until we actually see the patch we won't know for sure how any of it will work.

EDIT: Aw, okay. ): [/quote] Imagine if you didn't have to download the client first before playing, because you WOULD have to eventually (As to some of the contents like some maps and music I'm not too sure) But imagine Maple working like a Youtube video buffering - it works, then it freezes while it has to download, then you play again It'd be a pain. So of course we need to download the client And as mentioned above it opens new opportunities for stupid bombarding advertising. Pretty pointless to me because I reckon website logins are more easily hackable (But hey... you play, get hacked, then start again, and for NX-buyers it means more NX = more money for Nexon.....)

Don't think it's possible to run a 2GB+ game simply from a website.
