So is there a way to install maple on an external hard drive such as an E drive. Everytime I try to instal it, it says "not enough memory" because it is trying to install on my C drive (very old computer so the drive only has 28 gigs of storage) I know it has worked before but I don't remember how. Also, there is enough space on the external (80 gigs available). Yes, I am choosing the E drive when that thing pops up but I think thats just for the downloader. I'm working on clearing my C drive now just incase.

When the downloader pops up and asks you where you want to save it to, click the browse button and click your E drive.

How much space left you have on your C: drive? Because it will extract two temporary folders (that's going to add up to nearly 4GB) into it before installing MS to it's designated drive. Edit: Try running Disk Cleanup or CCleaner to free up some space.

BobROne thing you can do is move some stuff TEMPORARILY from the C: drive to the external D: drive, then after installing Maplestory, move it back again.

BobR
bobahobo : Is it possible to play MS on a MacBook using this method?
No- it's WAY more complicated than that. MapleStory ONLY runs under Windows, so you have to run a Windows emulator and install an actual copy of Windows before you can run MapleStory. You could probably install all of that on an external drive on a Mac though, if that's what you mean, yes.
now you know why macs suck so much... edit; @above; what the hell are you talking about, OP has windows, and it's perfectly normal for him to put it on his external hardrive. @OP, if your c drive is running empty of space, that will affect the speed of your computer.

If you install MapleStory into C:, it dumps the entire load into C:, but if you choose another, half the size goes to that hard drive, while another half is installed in C:. Don't ask me why, it says so on the installation guide. You could've read it. But yeah, clean something in your C: drive, install Maple in C: and THEN copy the entire MapleStory folder into E:.

I know it's possible to set it all up on your main hard drive on a MacBook, but I'm not sure if the whole Windows emulator/Windows boondoggle can boot from an external hard drive.
