Basil Suspension Free Medals

I believe that suspension free medals you have earned shouldn't be taken away if you get banned. Simply instead, you should be able to keep the ones you had, and simply lose your progress you've made to the ones you don't have yet. Those medals aren't gotten, they're earned , and shouldn't be taken away so easily, especially for simple mistakes. Do you agree with me?

what about those that have all 4 already? they lose nothing if they get suspended? o_o

Those medals are awareded not for being suspension free for x amount of days, but being suspension free. The medals simply mark milestones of being suspension free. Besides, then people just follow the rules / don't basil for 24 months, and then go right back to spamming/trolling etc.

Wait a minute, isn't being suspended something to lose already though? Don't people who continue to be annoying trolls simply get banned at one point?

The medals show how long you have been suspension free up to the present from the day the medals were implemented(and a month prior). The medal isn't to show the longest amount of time you have not been suspended for. Being able to keep the medal forever defeats the purpose of the medal. The medals are rewards for continuing to obeying the rules. I would like it if I could keep all 4 of my suspension free medals forever, but I don't think it would be a good system.

I will answer with this quote: [/quote] Mistaken suspensions are much less common than people seem to think. 90% of "mistaken" suspensions are caused by the offending Basiler simply not understanding the moderators interpretation of the rules, and for what they were suspended for. If you lose suspension medals due to a mistaken suspension, simply include a note in the contesting report asking for your medals restored. Problem solved.

[/quote] I've been banned for posting "ring(5times) bananaphone" and the comment from the mod said that now he had the song stuck in his head. did i really deserve that? and i bet people have been banned for even less understandable things.

Yeah what if someone made it 2 years without suspension,wouldn't it suck if he will get suspended and lose his medal? Not to be rude but Basil sometimes bans for dumb reasons.

[/quote] The mods and MrBasil rarely give out unfair suspensios. 99% of complaints about suspensions are proven to be the complainer being wrong or dumb. I, myself, have proved many complainers to be wrong or dumb. Not following the rules =/= dumb reasons. It's a very simple concept to follow.
