the PIC thing is pretty much the same as the PIN. If they can hack your PIN, I'm pretty sure they can hack your PIC. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It you accually make yours hard AKA UpperCase, Lowercase and numbers. + No Keyloggers, or giving away info. You wont get hacked.

[/quote] The only way that could be possible is if they had your pin beforehand to make your pic their own. If you gave them your pic, you're definitely an idiot.

Well i have definatly seen a decrease in "I got hacked threads" on basil so i guess they work.

[/quote] Pin only has 4 numbers whereas pic can have up to 16 letters or numbers It'll take them longer to find out your pic unless you have an easy one like 123456. If you have a hard one with random letters and numbers like Gdfg4d5g1dfvDFG, they will never find out. I just typed random letters on my keyboard so don't think that's my pic.

...I think the hackings went down before the PIC was implemented... And I still doubt how effective the PIC actually is. I know its harder to guess a PIC (4 vs... 6-16 or so characters). Rarely do hackers "guess" your PIN or PIC... so I doubt the complexity is going to help.

With PIN, there were only 9,999 possible choices. That can be cracked with sheer brute force. The PIC, can be up to 16 characters, have numbers, and any letter in the alphabet in upper or lower case. That millions of possible combinations... I don't know who those crackers worked, but if they worked on a principle of brute force, PICs make it pretty much impossible. The only thing I've heard that sounds plausible to me is a "malicious screen-cap program." I didn't know they existed, but from what I've seen on Basil, they send a screenshot to someone everytime you click. Ones that pinpoint the location of your mouse wouldn't work because the buttons are different each time. That said, I'm not a programmer. If there are ways around it, it comes as no surprise to me.
