It's my 16th birthday in 2 days and I'll be driving my dad's 1997 GMC Jimmy assuming I pass the test however, come spring time I'll have approx $5000 to buy myself a car because I want my own, the jimmy is kinda hard on gas and I prefer something smaller So I'm looking for ideas I'm considering a mid 90s prelude

Craigslist can be a goldmine. My friend got a '05 civic for 2,000. The rims alone were worth half that and it came with an entertainment package worth over 5,000. I just drive my dad's truck when I need it. I see a lot of busing in my future, especially once I move out.

My first car was a G35x. I suggest you look at sites like Craigslist and Vehix and keep on a lookout for a decent used car.

97 nissan altima that was 3200 but my dad drives it now and I drive my mom's 06 corolla since she got a 10 camry and I commute to school.
