Crocell quest glitch?

well im up to the part were you talk to cheif stan in henesys and the quest is called the completed treasure map. he says to go investigate the forest east of henesys and i guess that means kill the monsters around that area because i have to get and old key and an old worn out paper that im guessing drop from the monsters in that area. well ive been killing them in that map for soooooo long now and nothing has dropped, ive forfeited the quest 2 times and re done it again to see if it may drop them then but no they dont wanna drop. is there a glitch or somthing?

if i remember correctly then its not a monster drop one of the seagulls on the sign to nat port is like a box where you can hit it and it drops the items

You have to hit (with a regular attack) the seagull on the right side of the entrance to the Nautilus Harbor a few times. It will drop both the key and the paper.

Oh. My God. I hated that part. Hit one of the seagulls near the entrance to nautilus. It should look like its being tickled.
