So, I've been thinking of possibly creating my own Eclipse using the Maker skill, but it would actually be my first time makering anything (aside from the 3rd Job Advancement). Any tips on how I should go about handling this? And for discussion's sake, I'm at Maker 2.

@above I hear those are tough to get manually....or maybe I'm just hearing wrong. :P

i think crystals can't get into weapons, just normal ores try advanced diamond and advanced bc. Also "makering"? really? try making instead -.-

(Unless she was lying to me ) Although Advanced Diamond and Advanced BC could turn out better due to the possible watk boost. (I suppose you could refer it to it as "Makering"... much like "Googling"?)

About the Advanced crystals/jewels, would I have to buy them, or would it be more efficient to make them myself?

[/quote] From experience, it MIGHT be cheaper to make them yourself. With maker, you have a chance of getting lucky and going from the refined gem straight to intermediate or advanced. But with making them yourself, you might also be unlucky and end up failing a few times from basic --> intermediate or intermediate --> advanced. (I failed intermediate --> advanced garnet 4 times in a row, but got 2 advanced amethysts from gems within 5 tries) EDIT: @YumAlfredo: Is the percentage from intermediate to advanced really THAT low? I've also been wondering whether the Hands stat affects that as well.

OT: If you want to use Advanced, you HAVE to buy them. Otherwise, it'll take a lot of Basic Gem attempts to make them (statistically 20+ with Maker 2). I would use Diamond and Black Crystal, personally. 1/8 chance that they'll both add to watk. Or you can go Power Crystal + Diamond, which has 100% chance to increase damage. I also wouldn't use a stimulator, like someone above suggested, just 'cause when you maker with a Str-based character, the chance to break your equips is higher. Off-topic again: I use the noun as the verb, like someone said above. Googling something can be referred to as, "Go google it." Using maker for something, I refer to it as, "Go maker it."

personally i'd buy the gems you need and try that because harvesting all the items is to much work for me. also, how do you level up maker? do i use it or is it quest related?

@above There are quests to upgrade it. You get Maker at 45, then upgrade at 75, then upgrade one more time at 105.
