Zak Helm, Wisdom OR Ele 4

Should I buy a Zakum helmet via run, and buy an okay Wisdom/Shine, or should I buy an Ele 4. I have limited mesos around 70-80 mil, so advice would be appreciated. I'm Lukless and have a Marbas hat +12, +6 Int cape, 5 M.Atk earrings, unfunded.

The elemental multipliers off an Ewand 4 at level 70 would result in a higher damage boost than that gained off a zhelm/shine wand at level 64. Also an Ewand 4 might be the cheaper option too depending on server (seen them as low as 30-40m in Scania at one point).

I actually was in teh same boat as you were. Here was how I looked at it. Overall int 30% = 5 int, 20m. Gloves 30% = 3 int 3 m. attack 16-18m. Zhelm =15 int, 15 luk. 150 wdef (minus 12 int from marbas hat) = 3 int = 80m Deputy star = 5 int, 100 hp/mp <-- very nice, 50m. 4 int / 8 m. atk earrings (minus 5 m. attack earrings for you) = 7 m. attack = 30m. 6/6 PuAc cape = 12 m. attack, = 30m Targar hat = 17 int (minus 12 int from marbas hat) = 5 int earned at level 80+ for free Zhelm can be scratched off because you're paying 80m for 3 more int. 4/8 earrings are priority. You get 7 m.attack for 30m. That PuAC cape is nice, 30m for 6 more m. attack. That's next. gloves for 30% is the next step, though a bit of a gamble. I bought 2 int 1 m. attack ywg (4 slots) for about 15million, then landed a 30% on my second try. 5 int, 4 m. attack, 2 slots = 9 m. attack, costs about 45m. however, that maple shine wand is a top priority. It's by far, the most cheapest source of m. attack. Your lama staff comes with a base stat of 58 m. attack. That maple shine wand comes with around 80 i'm guessing? 20 more m. attack for what, 40m? 50m? I don't know the price on your server since maple weaposn are more common/cheaper in populated worlds and more expensive in less populated worlds (less people hunting for maple weapons).

Dammit I was ninja'd. Anyway, I'd advise against a z-helm because you're lukless and have a marbas helm. The zhelm would only give you 3 m. atk (on avg), while the EWand 4 would give a 110% damage to ice (I think 4 is the lightning one), 125% to lightning, and gives decent magic atk. Summary: EWand 4

If it helps, the basic guideline for mages: weapon > white belt 100% > earring > cape > helmet > gloves > overall > YSS (shoe)

: im sry p00npl0x3r even tho your information is 100% correct, your forgetting about one thing: ele wand 4 is 10% more ice damage and 25% more lightning damage. im an ice lit, and even tho i REALLY want a deputy, i just got an ele staff 3, for the extra 25% ice damage overall, the 10% more ice from ele 4 wand 4 will help you use your low lvl ice strike, and will also allow you to use lightning efficiently while you lvl up to increase your ice strike. to sum it up, do NOT get shine wand, but instead get the ele wand 4, then, as p00npl0x3r said, get good earrings and a puac.

[/quote] I didn't finish reading your paragraph, I stopped when you said zhlem can be scratched off because of the 3int different. The thing is... You aren't paying for the 3int, you are also paying for the insanely high def. I don't know the def of that hat, but with a zhelm, you waste less pots on hp.

Since you're lukless, save up another 10-15mill for an elewand 3 Nice 25% Boost to ice dmg, real nice when you get Ice Strike

Get an Ewand. if you have money after that, get a shine wisdom for those six or so levels, then sell it back. mage gear is inflated atm however, so keep that in mind. After the ewand, go for a zhelm next. you get more out of it for a dep and you can get them pretty cheap via runs. Dep is then your next priority imo. hard to say what with having no clue what your overall is like.

get an e wand 3 instead in 3rd job, the increase in ice damage is MUCH more important than the boost in lightning damage

If ur not a mage u could consider buy a zhelm, but ur a mage, luk does hardly anything to ur att or def, unlike me, i need dex! i'm dexless..........
