NRW as a final weapon

I like 2hs in general, but I like having the attack speed, so I'm naturally stuck b/w the Stonetooth and NRW. Obviously STs have the 25+ extra dex necessary, but come with 5 extra attack, which IMO just about levels it out. Tack onto that the fact that I won't need any unnecessary dex equips. This includes scrolling my Reverse shoes for speed, using my 35+ str top/bot set, and maintaining a lower base dex. I'll also be able to use my Icarus (2) (+12 str) for training, etc. Is a NRW a viable final weapon? Maybe a 125+ attack one?

i personally think you should just maker the reverse overall and hope for the best(with stims and advanced dark crystals). afterwords, just scroll for dex and try to switch the ic2 to a 3/8+ dex pac/gaia/taru spirit cape

I have a spare PAC for bossing. The Icarus is far more useful for training, since it gives me 140 speed plus my other equips and the pill. "Hoping for the best" with 150+ mill overall (and then how ever much to scroll) doesn't seem prudent.

If the 25 extra dex actually means losing 25 str then I think it's fine to stick with the NRW. If you're only getting 15-20 str lost for the Stonetooth (eg. you have 100-105 dex anyway even with NRW) I think you're better off going with that. I stopped using a speed cape, attack capes are pretty cheap while attack shoes are not (mine's a 13 str 3 atk taru cape, that was 100m). So using a speed shoe and attack cape makes more sense than speed cape and str/atk shoe.

125*1.09 (speed advantage for DPM/S from fast -> normal) = 136... so if you think a 136 w.att sword would be end game quality sure. there was a poll back before hammers was released... everyone seemed to agree any fast (5) 2h sword over 115 att was end game quality, but it's really up to the wielder , but from my experience upgrading from a 118 ST to something better isn't cheap and prices on ST are getting more and more expensive everytime someone blows one up not sure about NRW's though.

[/quote] Shoes have speed too actually. +5 from maker, +5 from MoN, +10 from pill, +10 from cape, +10 from bottom. Again, I have an attack cape (6 atk PAC) that I use for bossing. The speed cape is strictly for training only. I still three-hit skeles, so the speed cape is far more useful. |

I use a 14 speed shoe so I guess the cape is less necessary (if I were to use a NRW/ST I might have scrolled it for dex, I guess - but speed is cheaper) Eventually I'll be using 14 shoe + 6 bottom + 5 top + 5 MoN to maintain speed needs, for now I can't afford to scroll pants so I'm using a +speed witch belt to make up a couple. I might also switch the top for a 5 speed boost on Makered weapon but that doesn't help with NRW/ST. I really can't ever expect to 3hko Skelegons consistently (minimum 4000 to 3hko all the time? Currently around 2600...) so I just go for higher average damage. Raises my chances of 2hkos anyway.

Your original post reads so that it's hard to tell whether you mean you wouldn't need any extra equips for NRW or whether you wouldn't need any extra for a Ribgol. If it's both, then obviously it comes down to purely an attack comparison. In general, 25 more STR won't make up for 5 attack at your level, but I'm not sure what the difference is between scrolled NRW and scrolled Ribgol prices. In any event the difference is probably quite minimal and you should probably just choose whichever one you want to identify your character with, i.e. as part of your role-playing identity. @ Mancartia: I just computed 3857 as the requirement for min to always 3-hit with ACB. However, I wouldn't necessarily worry about needing a 4th hit maybe 1% of the time or whatever, so I guess 3800 is a decent estimate? Yeah, you're right, that might be tough to reach with BWs before maybe 180. I'd imagine it'd be easier 1-handed since they have very similar minima and 1-handed can use attack shields, but I don't know how accustomed you are to those or how much you'd miss beating down that big Pianus.

3800 to 3hk skelles? skelles only have 80000 and 85000 hp, so you would only need 28334 minimum to consistently 3hko,

| I still get 4040 when I tried again o.o Of course like you say, it can be below that to just have a pretty good chance of 3hkoing. Actually, when I look at it, a min around 3300 would give me basically 99.5%, 3500 would give me 3 9s, 3700 gives me 4 9s, and 3900 brings that to 99.999% chance of 3hko or better (actually at that point, it would be about 85% 2hko, 15% 3hko, 0.001% 4hko) I guess 2600 bumped up to 3300 is more reasonable, for 1 in 200 dying in 4 hits. That's only gonna take me until 150 or so if my upgrades go as planned (at some point in the next 15 levels I'm trying to purchase a 136 attack weapon, and pick up another few atk elsewhere) A 2h sword can get away with having about 75% as much str (or 75% the w.atk and same str, or some combination of which the product is 3/4 of the BW's)... meaning if my equipment was paired with a 124 2h sword I would have been 3hkoing about 5 levels ago when I maxed Divine Charge. :| |

Hmm. Check over my computations and see if anything's missing. 1) Skelegons = 80k HP ---> 3 hits = 26,667 2) ACB = 350% damage, so ceiling (26.667k / 3.5) = 7,620 3) Defense penalty for min = 0.6 * wdef, Skelegon wdef = 800, so 7620 + 480 = 8100 4) Holy-weak multiplier ---> ceiling (8100 / 2.1) = 3857 Out of curiosity, is your 4-hit kill computation considering the min can only happen on stabs (40% of ACBs/Blasts), and is it on the rate of 4-hit kills for individual targets or for mobs of a certain size? A full mob dies in only as few hits as it takes to kill the longest-surviving target, so for instance, 1/200 for one target = a little more than 1/34 for six-target mob. On the other hand, I suppose we're also forgetting Rush, something a 6-mob attack-skill user should probably be using to form every single mob. On the bright side, I suppose you've got a moderately high rate of 2-hit kills to look forward to. 5671 should manage a 2hk, which your swings might reasonably manage.
