Hurrah for Sonic The Hedgehog 4!

If you haven't heard the news Sega has announced that they are releasing Sonic The Hedgeho 4 Episode:1 a direct sequel to Sonic 3 and Knuckles for the Sega Genesis! The game will be available for download on WiiWare, PS3, and X-Box 360. It's also possible that it will be released on the DS (Maybe downloadable on the DSi). Like Sonic 1-3 on the Genesis this game will also be 2D but with polished graphics think of Sonic Rush but with HD graphics. Apparently it will retain the same gameplay like the older games (dash through the acts, running shoes, shields, special stages, spin dash, and chaos emeralds=super sonic). Not many other things are known about this game such as if there are other playable characters etc. I'm really excited to see how this plays out I think i even saw what looked like Green Hill Zone in the trailer. It's interesting that Sega went back to the old school sonic instead of making another 3D adventure game but probably a smart move since everyone has been giving sonic a lot of crap about those games recently what with Nintendo doing a New Super Mario Bros. series. There's no way they could mess this up. Plus there's even been news that sega did a badnick fan art contest where they accepted fan art of what could possibly be Sonic's new enemies in the new game. @above prolly because they are using 3D animation instead of sprites. I still think it looks good.

This looks exactly like the ones on the DS. I don't see anything special or 'HD' about this one that it needs to be called 'Sonic 4'. You know how some people say 'beating a dead horse' or 'hitting rock bottom', well Sega has somehow found a trap door at the bottom of the barrel. Sonic is dead, yall. Just let him go.

Cool. Looks retro. That made my night a bit better. @imogene: Oh stop being a Scrooge. I'm tired of playing Sonic and Knuckles 3 over and over on my Sonic Mega Collection GC cd. It's about time there's some fresh new Sonic stuff brought out that's different from all that 3D stuff. We will never let go.

[/quote] I grew up with the Sega Genesis, and therefore all of the Genesis Sonic games. No way am I "letting him go".

[/quote] Loved the free-roam mode in SA1, loved the overall gameplay of SA2. (The music for both was/is awesome as well. Of course it had/has to be....lots of guitar work by Jun Senoue!)

That was one thing I loved about the 3D Sonic games was the music! @above The game is still under development so maybe they will include it. I will say this though in the trailer it looked more like he was walking rather than running. They need to fix that for sure.
