Write a(nother) story, that is. My previous one has hit a horrible roadblock, which may or may not have something to do with the fact that it's an original idea and that I never did completely flesh it out in the preparation stage. I'll definitely try to finish it, but that would probably take a while, so I figured I might as well start something else in the meantime to keep the knife sharp. I'm thinking of going off of some previously established material this time around, known as fanfiction in cruder terms. That way, there is a pre-existing and well-developed universe off of which only small liberties need to be taken. So basically, I'm deciding whether or not I should write a Pokemon fanfic. Halp plz, Basil.

If you are planning on dirtying the world's greatest anime with your wretched fanfic words, then no. However, if you were to glorify it in a manner most fit for such an esteemed show, then yes.

Most of the stories are too fantastical and oversaturated with action, which really takes away from the appeal. Although I still have only the fuzziest of ideas in regards to the plot, I'm considering a darker interpretation of the universe. Rather than the cheerful and child-friendly world of the anime and games, this Pokeverse is dark and gritty. People and Pokemon go missing, dangerous dealings do happen, and even the highest Team Rocket admins would be but baboons in comparison with the shady crime group that exists ins this world.
