NEW: Basil Medal Rewards

Greetings Basilers! Over the next little bit I'll be launching some of the Basil Medal rewards. If a few things look different for select people you can chalk it up to this new feature. I would say what they are, but it's more fun if you just discover it on your own. Enjoy

On topic: I hate this idea. Vehemently. I love Basil in that each poster is unique, but in no way "better" than another. Thus, no post counts, no signatures, equal opportunity avatars, etc. Medals (and now visible rewards for medals) ruined this, and I foresee more of this sort of thing. That being said, I'm in. I'll have ten later today. Edit: Though, I do love how the original poster's posts are all in blue in his/her thread. This is especially useful when grey blobs start threads. Nice touch. Second edit: Wait. Or not. It only happens on some people's threads. More medal rewards, perhaps? -_-'

I thought it is for particularly helpful threads. It just doesn't make sense to me in the way you've mentioned it.

People with medals are being "rewarded" and it makes the rest of us look like idiots. And furthermore, the medal system is only good for those who still play maple. How am I supposed to fame a basiler if I don't even play maple anymore. How am I supposed to get feedback? And staying suspension free is next to impossible for those who stay only in the chat section. What I'm trying to say is that this 'reward' system is fostering a state of elitism, cutting down the system of equality that we are used to on basil.
