Switching from Aran to Spearman

Hi. Much like most of this community, I have considered getting my Aran to 70 just for that ring. After this, I plan to use my equips to fund a spearman. I have no problems with focusing on one character and just dropping the hard work in hopes of making something better. My question is, is it "better" to switch from an Aran to fund a spearman? I don't care that I will level faster since I'm at 70. I just want to know which one would be better in the long run. When I say "better", I'm talking about which one would have more potential once it gets to the higher levels with equal funding.

Alright I did the same thing you did Keep your polearms and go Hybrid Spearman! Read the Guides but basically you will max polearm mastery/booster first then later spear mastery/booster blah blah blah So if you keep your stuff then the transition would be basically costless

Sigh. Feel free to make a DK, but I honestly doubt you will survive spearman. Your spearman will be considerably weaker than your aran, and you will probably go back to the aran. So many banwagonners to the DK class now, go research the 4th job before you get there and realize you didn't know what you were getting yourself into.

I need opinions on which one is better in the long run. I could care less about my damage right now since I already know Aran damage is just bs.
