| Well, I wrote this paper. I just got it back and i got 110/200 on it. I don't know what I did wrong. I can re-write it and turn it in by friday. Please Help (: War Crimes, Left Unpunished? "We in the United States should be all the more thankful for the freedom and religious tolerance we enjoy. And we should always remember the lessons learned from the Holocaust, in hopes we stay vigilant against such inhumanity now and in the future." (Dent) Some people, on the other hand, weren�t so lucky. Holocaust Survivor Solomon, Radasky was when he was 92 on August 4, 2002. He was a hero to his children and grandchildren. He faced the worst and the best in life. The hardest part of his life is when he went though the holocaust. He was at the Treblinka extermination camp and the Majdanek concentration camp. He was shot once in his ankle. Luckily he met someone that was formerly a doctor. He tended to his wounds. His strength, wit and wisdom saw him through. He had lived in Warsaw before this mess. There were 375,000 Jews living there. Now, he doubts there are even 5000. A little over sixty years ago, a war was going on. A group of people were using the Jewish people as a scapegoat for their hard time, recession, and loss in World War I. This group of people called Nazi�s. They were killing off Jewish people. The ways they did it were cruel and sick. It ranged from poisoning them to just shooting them in the head. After the war, people were still hunting down the Nazis, they think that they should be convicted. Although the crimes were committed long ago, the United States should continue to put effort towards the prosecution of the Nazi war criminals. People during the war were experimenting on people, and to this day we are still putting effort to find and prosecute them. There were many of these war crimes. One of them was cruel experiments that were conducted on the prisoners. �The trial described and documented some of the most gruesome and painful medical experiments including those for typhus, seawater, high-altitude, bone transplantation, extreme cold, sterilization, poison, and skeleton collection.� (�The Doctors� Trial�) Most of the people that were experimented on are unnamed and dead. The experimenters were cruel people and treated the people worse than they would towards animals. Cruelty that bad should not be left unpunished. Throughout the time after the war, the CIA quickly set out to try to find some of the hide away Nazis to put them on trial. Investigations were put into place to find escaped war criminals after World War II. It was hard to find these people, because �Separating fact from fiction about the alleged postwar relationships between American intelligence and its former German enemies and collaborators is both difficult and confusing.� (Ruffner) Most of the files from the time period needed to find these people in hiding were destroyed. They were most likely burned right before the end of World War II. A little over 60,000 people |
