Ok so I thought I'd post this because it might help a lot of people. Now I know what to look for in terms of how to spot a phishing scam/keylogger attempt or whatever you want to call it but I don't know if others do. Anyways here is what happened and I'm not sure if it's related to the "hackings" recently. I just recently checked my email (hotmail) and noticed several emails that claimed to have "failed at delivering a message". I opened one of them and reviewed what it said. The email said that it was unable to send something to some random email addresses (each email changed the address). I had around 15 of these emails spread over 3 days. The emails all said the same thing, that my game account from Blizzard (WoW) had been suspected of being sold or traded. I, however, do not have any Blizzard accounts because I have never played any games from them. It said I needed to visit a certain site to verify that I was the owner of the account. I put up maximum firewall/virus safety/anti-keylogger stuff and clicked "visit website" to see what it was about (I know stupid idea blah blah blah but I have more than enough to get rid of any virus/keylogger/ w/e it can throw at me. I took down msa.exe for god's sake). In any case, it immediately said "Reported Site Attack" in my firefox browser and so I closed it. Each email came with 2 attachments which are as follows: ATT00001 No Subject.mht Now, I have checked online for these files and as for "No Subject.mht" I got nothing. For "ATT00001 however, I got some people saying that you should NOT open it because it is a virus or something and apparently a lot of people are getting these or something who have game accounts. So if you get one of these emails, DO NOT open it. I am currently running a full system scan of my computer to make sure that I didn't catch anything while investigating this thing. So I suggest that if you have received one of these emails, download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (free version) and run a full system scan. Then top it off with Super-anti Spyware to get rid of anything that might be causing a problem. Those are just 2 generic solutions so they may not be 100% effective. I'm currently using CA Security Suite which is godly in terms of protection but it costs $. Hope no one gets this thing and keep your guard up people. Again, I'm not 100% sure if this has anything to do with these "hackings" but hey, ya never know. Good Luck!

Well I'm always in Safe-Mode for the most part when checking things out that are suspicious. It said the website was a reported site for attacks or something so I just closed it.

BobRThere was a major attack a few years ago from hackers in China with keyloggers (actual, genuine keyloggers) designed to steal online game passwords including the asian versions of Maplestory. These are known as the "Magania" family of trojans because they were originally designed to steal passwords for games distributed by "Gamania", the Taiwanese online gaming company. The trojans were originally delivered in e-mails that said "A friend has sent you blah-blah, click here to see it ....." And of course, lots of people clicked here.
