Ok you know Ax^2+Bx+C Well, this is in the same form except (x^2 +3x) is the X is the equation. So first we'll say y=x^2+3x. So Ay^2+By+C. Plug in the values for A, B, and C.. Y^2-2Y-8. Factor that into (Y+2)(Y-4). Now substitute x^2+3x back in [(x^2+3x)+2]*[(x^2+3x)-4] (x^2-3x+2)(x^2+3x-4) (x-2)(x-1)(x+4)(x-1) (x-1)^2(x-2)(x+4)

iThunderC : Ninjen, you can't add the X's together can you? You can if the exponents are the same, otherwise you leave them. But this is the wrong answer anyways. xD

(x^2 + 3x)^2 - 2(x^2 +3x) - 8 go in this order: simplify, combine like terms, factor (x^2 + 3x)(x^2 +3x)-(2x^2 + 6x) - 8 unfactored, and distributed now, from here i'm too lazy to do... do the steps i told you
