I want to! Not sure which one I'll be going to, though. I don;t want to aim too high, other wise I'll get disappoined, but I'll apply to like a miliion colleges, so atm I'm working on extracurricular activities o.o You? i was thinking maybe Stanford...

You'll learn the exact same things in community college than you will at a university if they offer the same classes. It's just a hell of a lot cheaper. Not sure about over there in Michigan, but the transfer program in California makes it extremely difficult for people to finish with their bachelor's in four years. The community college route is not always cheaper.

The community college route is not always cheaper. It depends on the college you go to. Some universities won't take community college credits. Not sure about Cali, but here almost all universities take community college credits.

I'm in college now. I just had my 2nd day of classes. I only go to school 3 days* a week for the fall semester

I guess I have to talk to my counselor, but I think that what bothers me about going into a community college is that I'd be the first generation of my family to go to college. I'd be possibly the second or third to get into college, I have two cousins that are both older than me..ones already in a college (not a CC) and my other cousin is on her senior year, and I think she's going to become a doctor....not sure but I hate to be compared to them, and I'd feel inferior and crappy if I go with the easiest. Besides, the CC is like 2 blocks from my house, I want to get he hell out of this place.

If not, graduate ASAP and leave them all behind while you go off making your money.

Don't waste thousands of dollars on classes you don't need when you can do them for waaaaay cheaper!

To get into an Ivy league college you need 2 things. To be from an extremely wealthy family or a lucky bastard. harvard generates 40 billion$s a year. If you look online you would see some families pay 5 mill per year for thie kids to go there and so on.

Trying for Cal Tech or MIT. MIT I doubt will accept me, and idk if I'd wanna move that far away(California already to Massachusetts?) Computer Science major, they have a chord(essentially an award for choosing a specific High School major) at my school for Computer Science. In order to get it I need to ace Chemistry this year; AP Chemistry is a prerequisite in order to get that cord.

After transferring, you'll graduate from a four-year in two more years then you get the degree and diploma from a four-year, same as anyone else who went there for all four years.

Incedio654 : Maybe it's just a stereotype or I'm an ignorant fool, but when I picture myself going into a community college, it makes me feel like a failure, since I couldn't think of anything to actually do with my life...or I just suck so bad I couldn't get accepted anywhere. I'm interesting in psychology. Originally, I was thinking becoming a doctor but I think that's boring =/ I was going to make an appointment with my counselor so that I could talk to them about all of these questions, but I suppose if I have no idea, I'll go to a community college... It all depends on what you do with it I guess, the people who fail at a community college are the one's who don't really want to be there but don't want to be frowned down upon for not continuing their education. most of my high school graduating class fell into that category. I had the opportunity to go straight to a four year and I took it because I'm sure of what field I want to be in. I'm about to start my 3rd year at UCLA in 2 weeks and I started off as a psychobiology major (think premed psych) cause I wanted to be a psychiatrist. After spending a year about of doing the whole science core thing I realized it wasn't for me and swapped to regular psychology with the idea of doing clinical. But now I might just take the academic career. I volunteer in the anxiety disorder lab. Anywho don't be afraid to try different fields just make sure you do it right a way and not do something your heart isn't into. You'll end up a sociology major (because its the only one that can be completed in a year).
