Nah, I had AVG before I downloaded AVAST, I had no trouble with both running at the same time either.

nerdit : Nah, I had AVG before I downloaded AVAST, I had no trouble with both running at the same time either. Having more than one AV can cause conflicts. Like they would think each other as a virus. Also, it can lower the performance of your computer, as well as cause it to crash.

Frozenvarice : u have the CONFLICKER WORM (maybe) If you use Automatic Updates and your computer is up-to-date, your computer wouldn't be affected by Conflicker, since Microsoft already patched the loophole.

I. dont. like. AVAST!. I needed a new anti-virus and i read a thread saying many people liked it so i tried and then i restarted my computer, i noticed the AVAST icon on the little toolbar at the bottom, so okay after 5 minutes, my entire computer froze after being restarted. I didn't know what to do so i restarted, again. Same thing happened. I started to suspect AVAST was messing up my computer so i turn it off before 5 minutes was up, because after 5 minutes, it would freeze. After turning it off, nothing froze, i was about to play maplestory perfectly fine. I went on my firefox to go on youtube and such, not a single page worked. It was as if my internet was being cut off, but it can't be because my Maplestory is still running (minimized). So i turned AVAST back on, and what do you know? After 5 minutes it froze again. Great. I restarted, turned it off asap and uninstall it and now my computer is perfectly fine.. I also downloaded AVAST from download.com so... i may not want to download it if i was you...
