Do you really want a Samsung? Cuz to me it looks way overpriced. I could recommend some others if you'd like.

Arquix : Good point. Is it at all possible to save up a little more money, op? Well yeah.. my dad said i could get a macbook if i wanted but I just don't wanna spend that much using it for a max 2-3 years. also what is so bad about the computer in this price range. all i will do is go on internet use it for homework, and maybe a little maplestory. for better games i just use my 360, aren't these computers fully capable of that stuff?

Try to find some cheaper HP laptops, and don't mainly aim for RAM, it's pretty easy and cheap to upgrade. @Above: If any Mac, get a Refurbed Aluminum MacBook ($900), unless you REALLY need that FireWire port.

Samsung is a "meh" company in terms of laptops and computers. They're not known for making great ones. And looking at those specs, I believe you can definitely get more bang for your buck if you searched for another laptop. Prominent ones that I've used and liked (but are not limited to) were HP and Dell. They're not THE BEST, but they're definitely laptops that function well at a low price.
