Question for all other Wind Archers

When you first got third job, did you put points into arrow rain or did you go for the eagle eye/wind piercing path? I followed Kevvl's guide and put my first point into strafe, then one into eagle eye one in wind shot, and one in wind pierce. I'm only lvl 72 btw. I have three skill points and if i continue to follow his guide i'd put three points into arrow rain. However, when i first got eagle eye I was kind of disappointed and wished I had put three points into arrow rain right away instead of eagle eye wind shot and pierce. The reason is because the atk speed of those attacks are at a set speed which compares to normal speed. I am currently using a kandiva so i can sttack very quickly with strafe or arrow rain, but not wind pierce or shot. I know I shouldn't be too critical of the eagle eye wind shot and pierce cause theyre only at one point each but do you guys think I should put my 3 saved points into wind shot and go the eagle eye path or put it into arrow rain? Just asking other wind archers with their own experience. Personally I'd do arrow rain cause of the kandiva speed. Let me know what you guys think!

I went with the wind piercing+puppet build and never looked back. Im not sure, but it seems any wind archer build can train relatively at the same speed as another. It just depends on your style

Arrow Rain, I see no reason in putting 1 Point into Eagle Eye without any Skills. With Arrow Rain you got a new "cool" mobbing skill, though, it's an AOE(Area of Effect) unlike Storm Break. Storm Break does mobs only in the direction you look to. Arrow Rain uses like Mages: AOE. I have putten mine in Strafe, because of 4 Arrows 71% Dmg. 71% x 4 = Stronger than Double Shot already. Also it's faster than you would cast 2 Double Shots.

Im personally going the Eagle Eye first build :3 +20% dmg per lvl for magnum shot seems VERY appealing to me And i get Wind Shot earlier too :D

Im unsure of how Strafe is faster than double shot. But does do more damage. One thing i would like to point out is that arrow rain will cost you alot of pots (since your gonna be in the center of the attack). |

Yeah, and Wind Shot > Strafe straight off but strafe would just be a fill-in move while waiting for eagle eye to finish CDing unless you're training on mobs |

If I have any chance to reset 20 Skill points, I would do it right away, I did a big failure with putting 20 in Arrow Rain. I wish I could reset it. But well... Now I did it, and I am sad and also happy, happy that I can train at Typhons, sad that I don't have puppet.

Hey Motoyuki, I personally went for the Eagle Eye and Wind Pierce build first. Yes, Wind Pierce/ Shot are relatively slow skills compared to Arrow Rain but the damage makes up for the lack of speed. From levels 70 - 75 I trained at MP3 with Storm Break and gained roughly around 40% an hour without 2x. Afterwards, I went straight to Windraiders until now. Amazing experience there once you got maxed Wind Pierce. If there is ever a mob, I just push them back with Storm Break and kill the entire mob in two hits with Wind Pierce. I gain around 40% an hour at WR without 2x as well. I'm planning on maxing Puppet next now that I have maxed Eagle Eye and Wind Pierce. This is because I wanna start training at Typhons. Lure Typhons with level 1 Arrow Rain, cast maxed Puppet at center platform, and take them out with maxed Wind Pierce. This would also save pots since the Typhons aren't attacking you. :D But yes, the Eagle Eye/Wind Pierce build is going to be extremely effective for training at Windraiders (especially with 2x rep/events/cards). Good luck with your Wind Archer

Im not sure if there is a puppet build out there... It involves typhons at lv 80 so Lv70=1 point into strafe (to take out stragglers) l v71= 1 into wind piercing, eagle eye, and puppet Lv72=1 into arrow rain(luring), 2 into eagle eye LV73-lv75=Max Eagle eye, 2 into Piercing lv 76-79=12 into wind piercing Lv 80-82=9 into puppet Lv 83-84=max piercing, 1 into puppet Lv85-86=5 into puppet, 1 into wind shot Lv87-94=max wind shot, save 2 95-100=save and max hurricane results at lv 100: max wind shot, Max Eagle eye Max wind piercing 16 puppet 1 arrow rain 1 strafe max hurricane

What the heck? How come everyone says it takes so many pots to AR. No one understands that at Typhons you MUST use strategy. The only time I use pots is when I collect mob. When I'm actually mobbing, I use my macro which Wind Walks then Ar's, and combined w/ the plant which does 8 DPS, I take max 200 dmg from a mob. I'm basically invincible.
