Would they be called a he or she? Say, originally a male got surgery, and now has a body of a female, would they be addressed as he, or she? And which would they prefer to be addressed as? Same thing, vice versa for female. I'm not trolling, but I'm just wondering since it gets confusing into a mini debate in my head 'he.. she.. no. wait. what?'

Transvestism and transsexualism are incomparable. Transsexuals undergo a surgery that is often fatal in a variety of ways for the sole reason of being thought of as their latter sex. However, even pre-operation, I would consider a transsexual's sex to be that of their gender.

There's a "correct" gender to call them based on their situation I think....but if I personally knew the person before I'd always consider them a [insert original gender here] but if I just met them, I guess I'd call them their new gender, unless they still look like their old gender.

Generally, they want to be called what they're transitioning into. So you would call someone going from male to female a she and someone going from female to male a he.
