I'm in Algebra II but the teacher wants us to go back over Algebra I stuff like different linear equation forms, since it turns out most of us forgot about point-slope form/standard form/etc. On this worksheet, we have to this little grid thing and one of the answers is "3x-4y=-12" and the corresponding question/problem is "Line is parallel to y=(3/4)x-3 and has Y-intercept as 3". So we need to form a line following these guidelines. But, when i put it in slope intercept form, I get "y=(3/4)x + 3" which, when converted to standard form, does not equal to "3x-4y=-12". So far, I've only gotten the "3x-4y=" part but I don't know how it turned out as "=-12".

you got the right answer dude y= (3/4)x + 3 because its not the same line but it has the same slope

it needs to have the same slope but a y intercept of 3. So you got the right answer.

Are you serious? Anyway, you have the correct answer dude

Yes, I got the right answer to the question stated but it's not the same as the answer in the grid, that being: 3x - 4y = -12

0xBanneditx0 : Yes, I got the right answer to the question stated but it's not the same as the answer in the grid, that being: 3x - 4y = -12 They are the same thing. y=(3/4)x+3 is the same equation as 3x - 4y = -12
