My HDD act strange when i use it in my WII

If any1 remember one of my old threads by any chance (which i doubt any does), i told you guys about my cousin breaking my Mario Kart Wii dvd. After that, i figured out how to play my LEGIT backups. Anyway, when i try to play my (legit) backup of Mario Kart Wii through USB loader GX, my HDD's power keeps flickering on and off every 2 seconds. The HDD is a Freecom FHD-2 PRO 40gb Mobile USB Harddrive . When i plug it in, the wii recognizes it instantly, but the power flickers as soon as i try to "Mounts the WBFS" or w/e I tried inserting the power cable (which is sadly, a USB instead of the thing you plug into an outlet) into the wii, and my laptop but it didnt do much. Also, ive tried alot of different loaders, all giving me the same results. If any1 knows what to do, or thinks they can help me in ANY WAY, please post below or PM me. Thank you.

It's probably not withdrawing enough power because the cable or the plug in is damaged

I forgot about that. EDIT: why wouldnt it be able to draw enough power from my laptop, which is plugged into its charger? Like, have the charging cable in my laptop, and the other in my wii

Ok look, there is 1 usb cable which connects the HDD to the wii and the other cable is a USB to AC adapter thing. So the usb end goes into the wii/other device and the other end goes into the HDD The power USB CAN plug into the Wii, if i want it to, but no matter where i plug it in, the power flickers
