Strange redirects.

Have you noticed basil redirecting you to this strange site that keeps saying that you have a virus? It makes a horrible attempt to mimic part of your computer, and pretends to scan some files that are supposedly on your computer. afterwards it proceeds to try to download something onto your computer, most likely a Trojan disguised as a virus scanner. It seems to come from basil's advertisements because I only get redirected after the ad loads. Lastly, this is probably not a virus already in my computer because i've scanned multiple times with Avast and McAfee before and after this incident started to occur and it only happens on basilmarket...

I blocked all ads so that might be why it hasn't happened to me.

yep, a LOT of websites have those redirects. i remember this one time i clicked "download" and it screwed my computer over. NEVER click it ><

If you dont close it in time a virus will get on ur computer EDIT: this does not only happen on basil, it can happen on mmany other sites and it did

Wow... I just made a thread like this.. Not as detailed but yeah... This keeps happening to me. I know I don't have any virus's, I haven't downloaded anything in so long. Also, I use a Mac and there are not much virus's for them. @Punkgx1, Well this has only ever happened to me on Basilmarket.

Sorry I took the attention away from you then, but we're all here to discuss those weird redirects we all seem to get only on basil. It does happen on other sites, but only once every 2 blue moons.

This is a result of bad ads and we are working to fix this issue with the ad provider. To those of you who ARE experiencing this issue, can you please tell me what country you're from? It could be that certain countries are being targeted. Knowing this information will help greatly in tracking down the ad and taking action. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I haven't had the problem, I usually have ad Blocker on FF, but I go on Chrome once in a while so I don't feel totally evil blocking all the ads. I did notice some ads I hadn't seen before that didn't look much like typical Basil ads.

So far, I have gotten no redirection involving fake infection alerts. I have, however, gotten redirects to potentially harmless sites. I'm reporting every link I get redirected to via reports to Mr. Basil.

Even though I'm probably hurting the site by having an adblock, noscript, cookie blocker, and avast webshield on, I have never been redirected.
