A few years ago, back when you had to roll dice to get your stats, I spent hours to roll 13 int. I made a luckless. I only got that character to level 30 and I stopped playing. I wanted to play again and I wanted to use the same name and I wanted to start over from level 1 and I heard about a new system that resets your stat points when you get a job so I started over. The reason I wanted to be completely luckless was because I wanted to have the most MP possible. I deleted my character and as soon as I got to level 2 I realized, that I will miss out on mp while I am a beginner. Does the MP I get while I am a beginner have anything to do with the MP I will have when I become a magician? Am I screwed?

I'm pretty sure a beginner's MP per level is preset, so no. Just to be safe you can train with 3 Snails if you want, since it no longer consumes snail shells.

Aww, that's amazing! I spent a week getting to level 13 because I could never find enough snail shells! I am going to test it. First I will create a beginner with all strength and see what his MP is when he becomes a magician, then I will do the same with all int. If it turns out that doing the same with all int was a complete waste of time then I will be extremely happy. If not then I might have to find a different game, lol. I typed this two hours ago. My results were that starting magicians have the same MP whether they gain their first few levels with int: 253. I also checked if the beginner gets any more MP from adding int and they do. Without int mp levels 2-4 are 16, 27, 37; and with int mp levels for 2-4 are 16, 27, 39. It is strange however that without int you gain 11 twice but then only gain 10. There is only one more way to determine that I screwed myself, compare with the past and determine whether your mp was always completely reset or if resetting is a new thing and it used to be added. The only way to do that is ask Nexon. Or join a MapleStory language that has an earlier patch.

I believe, if MP is like HP, it can vary by about 5 points per level, and more during the job advancement. Don't worry yourself about like 20 mp during your beginnger levels, it really isn't going to make a difference.

I wanted to have the MOST MP POSSIBLE. I know it is not important, I'm weird that way.

"MOST MP POSSIBLE" means the GODLIEST INT equipts out.

Lol someone like me. My Blaze levels slow because I added all Int ever since level 1. She had MW for almost every level too with okay Int Gear. I stripped my 31 Blaze and my friend's 31 Blaze to compare. She definitely had more base HP/MP and we're both lukless.

I remember doing something similar with my archer. As he leveled up, i noticed dex was worth more in the later levels. I figured this might be due to my xbow mastery! So then i restarted and made a lvl 30x; didn't put any points into dex until i had mastery maxed. Compared it with my previous archer, NO DIFFERENCE! xD buh its fun, cause u learn things as a result. Right now i'm trying to see if that skill arrow bI0w really does 283% dmg (at lvl 19/20) or not (cause lvl 20/20 does 260% dmg).

@ inferno, no it doesnt, it means be lukless, but use what would normally be in luk into mp. thats what i did. Happily more powerful than any other mage at my level (33) and i have 3200 mp. Im a BW btw, which does affect the power, and my bless is 7, but that is made up for with the 30-40 pts i have put into mp in place of luk.

AnasFNo. A horrible mistake is when you tell a girl that you're in bed with, "Hey, there's hair coming out of your nose. Kinda reminds me of my grandpa."

Why do you think luckless has more MP then normal? :S

You won't have the most mp possible unless you are super rich and have like 4 bil worth of int equips. Truth is that not only base int but also int from equips affect how much mp you gain. You would also need to have a fourth job character with 20 maple warrior come to you every time before you level so you will have maple warrior to increase your int. All of these are very hard to accomplish unless you are really rich and know a lot of high leveled friends who would come to you at all costs. When you become a 4th job, you won't notice a difference between your character with high mp and another character with average mp, other than the fact that you feel satisfied, of course.
Sam613 08/26/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Feeling satisfied is all I am after but I see, it is affected by equips too so it would be extremely difficult to make a "perfect" magician. That hurts a little but whatever.
JayFTW 08/26/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
why not just play a lukless one and not worry about having the "PERFECT" Mp. im playing a regular luk I/L since my main acc got banned. lost my 56 infighter which had about 67m on it :s. im lv 31 and i have about 1980-2150 MP. cant really check cause of the update atm.
