Windows 7 Lag

I've noticed that with Windows 7 MapleStory lags. It's not my computer's fault, because it didn't lag at all with Vista, which is slower. Plus, everyone I know who has had Windows 7 said they get the same lag (really low FPS). Is there a solution. I tried running in compatibility, and disabling Aero, but neither of these did anything. All help appreciated!

Did you install your graphics card drivers yet?

azn011 : Did you install your graphics card drivers yet? Yep. There's an update that I put on, but I still gotta restart, but I'm pretty sure I did that update before when I was still using Beta (now I'm using RC) and it didn't do much.

I believe you can only get the graphics card driver from the manufacturer's site o-o What's the model of your graphics card?

Windows 7 can find drivers automatically for stuff, even if they don't manufacture it. Either way, it's a Nvidia GeFORCE 8600 GT... Not the best in the world, but it works for me ;)

I have an nVidia GeForce 8600m GT and the drivers were pre-release and downloaded via Windows update. No lag for me. I've had XP, Vista and Windows 7 all on this same laptop and I've never experienced any lag. Are you sure it's not something else? In any case what version is your graphics driver?

I downloaded mine straight from the site, I didn't bother with Windows Update until after I installed everything. I'm not sure if it'll work, but try downloading your driver from here instead. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Did you partition your hard drive so you can dual-boot Vista and Windows 7? If you did, how much of your HD did you partition for Windows 7?

Tekis : Did you partition your hard drive so you can dual-boot Vista and Windows 7? If you did, how much of your HD did you partition for Windows 7? Originally, I did that. I had like 150 GB for XP, 150 for Vista and 150 for 7 Beta. I replaced XP with 7 RC and removed the other 2 and expanded the original partition to the full size of the HDD.

I'm currently running Win7 and using an XFX nVidia GeForce 8600 GTX which has even less compatability with games and it's working perfectly. Go to your devices, uninstall the driver for your graphics card and re-download the ***WINDOWS 7*** drivers for your card. Vista and XP drivers will not work correctly when running Win7. Even if your sure you have windows 7 drivers.. just redownload it just incase. Also.. if your running x64 edition you may as well be FML all the way home. I tried X64 Win7 and it bugged my pc to hell. >.>

I had like a million compatibility issues, and countless other problems with it. After a few days of slaving around the Internet I had everything working, and I haven't had any problems since. |
