Can i report "Tax Scammers" on this website?

I don't know if you are aware, but a recent scam has emerged from trading called the "TAX SCAM". This scam actually makes the mesos you get from trades less. Let's say person A comes up with auction on here, Person B buys it and wins. Person A meets Person B in game. Person B says they don't want to pay the tax. See the problem? The prices on basil market include the tax, but 4 people i traded with from here tried to scam me out of the tax rate. How can i report these scammers? UPDATED: Even though a couple said they were not "AWARE" that they were scamming, scammers are notorious for lying. So i believe they knew exactly what they were doing to me. I hope other people do not fall for this "SCAM" because i knew about it from reading a faq about not being scammed in maple story.

Well, I mean if they try to get you to pay tax, just don't trade, and leave negative feedback for that. And if they leave you negative, report the reason why you didn't go through with the trade.

Yes...exactly.they say to either let me pay the tax..or that there "trying to save me mesos" by not paying the tax. I was just wondering if i can report these bad people to mr. basil somehow..i don't want others to get affected by these people who might not catch these scammers... And no..i am not annoyed. IT is clearly a scam though...and it even states clearly on basil market "TAXES INCLUDED", so unless you don't read that...the person is clearly ripping you off..even 10% is alot when your selling something for a high amount..

This isn't scamming considering basilmarket has no authority when it comes to in-game trades. My advice is to just move on and take the trades and be thankful you sold them as long as your not losing a significant amount of money.(e.g - they pay extremely below the asking price)

Markus102 : Exactly...and the higher the price of item your selling..the more of a ripoff you get..now do you see the problem with people using this scam? I'm not really sure if you can actually ban someone for trying to tax scam. (Can you, Kevvl?) I guess just let them go about their business. It does state that tax is included in Basil, if other people don't know that, well, they should read.

Actually, I just realized...The price on Basilmarket doesn't include tax. Just like in the FM if you sell an item, you're not going to get your tax. If you sell an item on Basil, you're not going to get your tax. That's..why it's tax.

Then you are technically scamming, yourself. So how do you plead?

I think what we're going at here is the person being like "hey your paying 1 mill, include the tax to make it exactly 1 mill when I get the mesos." So like the person has to pay 1mill xxK instead of 1 mill.

If you sell an item on Basil, you're not going to get your tax. That's..why it's tax. True..you don't actually get the mesos used up in the tax, but consider this. If the other party does not pay for the tax, you get double dipped from the amount. In other words, not only do you lose the amount you would normally would from the tax amount, but the "reduced" amount the other person pays is automatically reduced by the tax too, so the tax is like double taxation on your sale. That is another part of the scam. If your selling some good items, say like a chaos scroll, all those mesos will be lost to double taxation, and thus..the person kinda rips you off the amount and is classified as a "SCAM".
