Speakers not working?

Okay, well I just recently fouud out that my speakers for my laptop are not working. I hear no sound at all. But when I plug in like headphones or something it I can hear sound. But when I unplug the headphones the speakers do not work. Can someone help me on this? Oh yeah, it's a Toshiba Laptop.

My brother has the same problem. Sorry but he doesnt have the solution. He is just using a headset for it. The speakers on my brother's laptop only works if the display is at a sharp 90 degree angle to the rest of the laptop. Is your laptop getting old? His is almost 5 years old.

sounds like it could be a wiring problem is it an old computer?
